Welcome to Kosmos!

Kosmos, my dream operating system would contain lots of features and these will depend on what platform it used. It could be used as a personal computer operating system, for networking computers, it could be used to control a set box or entertainment system. It could also be used for mobile telephones.

Personal Computer Operating System

As a Personal Computer System it would have many programs built in which you could use. In addition, if you wish you could buy external programs and use them.

Internal programs ideas include:

- Word Processor: that includes dictionary, thesaurus, spell checking, making tables, add spread sheets and charts, to be able to translate in various languages and it would have the ability to add modules. Modules are individual programs where either individuals or companies could add extra function to the word processor. This philosophy of being able to add modules would apply to all other programs in my dream computer operating system.

- Spread Sheet

- Music Editor: This program would include auto-accompaniment software which can be read as piano roll bars or as notation. The accompaniment would use Midi information. In addition the program could also record and edit audio. Eventually video would be added to the program also

Computer Operating System for Mobile Phones

As a Mobile Telephone Operating System, it could be used for:

- Operating the basic telephone. Software functions would include: alarm clock, mobile telephone messaging, email messaging, to be able to control extras on your mobile such as a camera, microphone etc. The OS would contain built-in software for editing and viewing data and transmitting it. You would also be able to use the OS in different languages. It would have the ability to translate to different languages if you require that function.

- You could also play games that come with the OS or you could buy external games from various vendors to play on your game. One nice idea that could be implemented if possible is if you play a game on your mobile, you could continue playing it on your personal computer. This could either be achieved by using Wi-Fi, a simple cable connecting your PC to mobile or the internet.

- Picture Gallery software would include functions in editing your photographs and creating your own galleries.

Please note that these are features that I would like in my dream operating system. Many of the features which I have mentioned on this page have come to reality on various gadgets and I am glad technology is improving.
