The King's Carbine - Intro

Angola 1846-1919

News:

Well gentleman, after much toil and headache I've finally managed to save some of the pages from the jaws of destruction and get the site up and running again. There are some new sections and I've tried to improve the browsing. I hope this new site is easier to navigate.

I've completed a new page with an article on the Naulila incident written by Thomas Morlang and translated with the help of Holger Döebold. This deals with the German view of the expedition against the Portuguese forces in Southern Angola during 1914.

The second part of the conquest of Southern Angola (1915-1916), is nearly completed and will be posted in a few days.

After that I'll begin posting the other campaigns in Angola, starting with the Dembos campaigns, 1872-1913.

East Africa 1850-1918

News:

I expect to start posting some long awaited articles very soon. The first one will deal with the struggle for the northern territories and Nyassaland in East Africa. This includes the clashes with the Zanzibar Sultanate, the Ajauas (Yao), the Makuas, the campaigns against the Swahili slavers of Angoche, and some border incidents with the British.
