Mission: to ensure the preservation of Kibworth Harcourt as an attractive, historic village with a pleasant environment.
Since 1980 the Society has successfully enhanced the village by helping to save the Manse and the Chapel wall, by planting bulbs and trees, by producing the Kibworth Harcourt Historic Trail leaflet with HDC, by objecting to greenfield housing developments, and by organising public meetings on important issues, such as Local Plans and the A6 Bypass.
Items that have been covered during our meetings during 1999:
The effect of the Harborough District Local Plan on Kibworth Harcourt
The Leicestershire, Leicester and Rutland Structure Plan 1991-2011
Conservation of traditional street signs and signposts in the village
Planning applications within the Conservation Area
Maintenance and upkeep of the street flower containers
Preserving Kibworth Harcourt’s ancient, separate settlement identity
Supporting Kibworth Harcourt Parish Council’s discussions with the Highways Agency on ways of slowing traffic and improving access onto the A6
