No newsworthy products so far, but hey, let us know!
Meanwhile here are some cool places to visit:
Vintage Keys
issue1
Yes, it's still here. This was the first issue of Vintage keys, and it's
now the first in an online archive for all to read, whenever and wherever.
www.combo-organ.com Want to be a Combonaut?
Combo Organ Heaven is your launchpad. Robert MacNutt has built a
unique resource, cataloguing everything from the popular Vox Continental
to the strange padded-naugahyde Kustom Kombo, the red-and-black striped
Magnus 3D, the futuristic Cordovox/Moog "White Elephant" and of course the
legendary LennyTone.
www.clavinet.com Clavinet by name, but this
company is rapidly acquiring a reputation as the on-line home of
all Hohner vintage keyboards, due to its phenomenal knowledge base
and range of innovative spare parts, including Clavinet strings and
humbucking pickups, plus "sticky hammers" for ailing Pianets.
www.hallofelectricpianos.com OK, I had
to give my own site a plug! But if you want to know what a Baldwin Combo
Harpsichord looks like, when Selmer patented its Pianotron, or who was
responsible for the first electric piano (a Nobel prize-winning Prussian
chemist, as it happens) you probably won't find out anywhere else.
lennyg47.tripod.com Executive Editor Lenny G
has produced this fascinating site, featuring images and sound samples of
lesser-known European electric pianos made by Hohner, Selmer and
the East-German manufacturer Weltmeister.
www.ezracharles.com Interviewed in Issue 1,
Texan blues pianist and bandleader Ezra Charles has a dark secret -
he used to be Charles Helpinstill, inventor of the eponymous piano pickup
and maker of the world's best electric grand piano. This is his band's
site.
http://members.lycos.co.uk/felinedream/boards/boards.htm
Completely loopy but strangely informative site dedicated to vintage gear
used by eccentric UK duo The Feline Dream.
