Sawyer's Travel Logs - Amsterdam

Amsterdam

What can I say? I love Amsterdam, its the most civilized city in the universe. Beautiful old architecture, the canals, the trams, the bikes... Its about as different as you can get from America. Excellent beers, coffeeshops that sell more than coffee, the red light district... Museums running the gamut from Van Goghs and Rembrandts, to the Sex Museum, to the Marijuana Hashish and Hemp Museum, to the Anne Frank House, to the Tattoo Museum, to the now closed Torture Museum (I don't know if they went out of business or what, but there is now a Torture Museum in Prague with the same exhibits) to many many more. Vondelpark, the Cannabis Cup every November, Queens Day. Amsterdam is truly a must see place if you ever make it to Europe...

Spend anytime in Amsterdam, even just a weekend, and your view of home (especially if home is the USA) will be changed forever.

...No, the lizards are not real. They are statues in a park near Ledsplein.
