ELIG
was formed in 1992, with the assistance of funding from CAPS (Consultation &
Advocacy Promotion Service).ELIG has always worked to represent the interests
of users of mental health services, both by bringing in guest speakers from
relevant organisations (East Lothian Mental Health Forum, Disability Scotland
and others) and bymembers involving themselves in consultation processes - for
example, ELIG members were involved in curriculum planning for Mental Health
Nurse students at Napier University, Edinburgh.
ELIG
became an independent group on 1 April 2000 (that's not a joke!) Since then,
members have taken part in training days (e.g. committee and group skills),
held an Open Day and organised social events. Thanks to funding from Disability
Scotland, ELIG recently acquired up-to-date computer equipment and internet
access....the fruits of which you are now viewing!
