Most
of these images were taken earlier in the year, under the threat of
military action against Iraq. BIS is located 20 kms from the centre
of baghdad in what was a sensitive area, bounded by a military compound
on one side and the international ariport on the other. Despite the
probability of damage in the event of a conflict,
school life continued relatively normally. |

The buildings used by BIS were purpose built and included two gymnasia, one for each section. Both of these, sadly, are now in ashes together with the library, science labs, computer room etc. etc. |
