If you have not entered a show before or feel that you need some advice on preparing your exhibits, this page is for you.

Firstly, if you are unsure about what to do or the quality required for entries, then please come along to our show. It is always held on the first weekend in September in Inverurie Town Hall. In fact many of the towns and villages in the area stage an annual show so keep a lookout in the local press for details.

The schedule explains how entries should be presented, for example on a plate, in a vase of a certain size etc, so please be sure to adhere to this to avoid disappointment. Where the schedule states a 11" vase etc, these are supplied by us and can be picked up at the Town Hall on the Thursday or Friday night prior to the Show. Please also check the membership and rules page.

Although there are a number of regular exhibitors attending the show each year, there is still plenty of scope for newcomers in many of the classes. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. We have introduced a new section in the schedule for beginners so please give it a go. We often hear people commenting at the Show that their produce is just as good as that on display. The only difference is, they won't win or receive any recognition if they don't enter, so have a go.

You will find that fellow exhibitors are quite ready to talk about their favourite subject and don't forget that the range of classes extends not only to vegetables and flowers but also includes floral art, baking, preserves and handicrafts and sections for aspiring young exhibitors as well as senior citizens.

When you turn up to stage your exhibits prior to the show, we are only to happy to give assistance if you are unsure about something. There will be someone available from the committee to give you a hand if required.

Please refer to the schedule index for a complete list of classes available or contact one of the committee members (see the contacts list) if you have any queries. If they don't know the answer straight away, then they will know someone that does. Please feel quite free to ask questions because we will be very pleased to hear from new exhibitors.

If you find it difficult to know where to get started then have a look at this guide on growing and showing.

If you have any comments to make either about the classes in the schedule or this site, please let us know because we try to adapt in order to encourage people to put entries into the show.
