Note: This line of the family is very confusing. The information below is what has been researched by other Garrett researchers but I believe there is a good chance it is innacurate.

From my research, there are two Edward and Elizabeth Garretts having children in Abbotskerswell around the same time. One Edward is a Mason, the other is a Tailor. The Mason is living in Cocklington in 1841 with a kid called Samuel born 1830. On familysearch.org, this is the Samuel attached to Edward Garrett and Elizabeth Osborne, not ours, born 1811.

Only one marriage appears in the Abbotskerswell records for an Edward and Elizabeth - being Elizabeth Osborne. Because of this, I think bets have been placed on this being the line of descent. I am not convinced, but place the info below anyway, on the offchance it helps anyone researching or on the small chance it turns out to be correct after all...
