How To Cope With Anticipatory Grief

Anticipatory grief is the name given to the mix of emotions experienced when we are living in expectation of loss and grieving because of it. Anticipatory Grief is particularly relevant to those who have received a terminal diagnosis and for those who love and care for them. Terminal diagnosis changes the very structure of our existence, takes away our control and our ability to hope and plan for the future. When someone we love is given a terminal illness, we become painfully aware of the fragility of life and may even fear for our own mortality. Living in expectation of death, causes us to experience many of the symptoms and emotions of the grief suffered when a loved one has actually died, including; shock, anger, denial, physical and emotional pain, helplessness and sorrow. Depression is common and changes in eating, sleeping and bowel habits may also occur. Prognosis increases our turmoil; it is inevitable that we begin counting down the...

How To Gain Mastery Over Fear Of Failure

Do you feel as if you cannot seem to achieve happiness, no matter how hard you try. You may not realize it, but your failure to reach your dreams may be caused by your own fear - most likely, a fear of failure. That s right; you might actually be keeping yourself down and standing in your own way of success - in your relationships, your career, or other aspects of your life. Bird Flu Vaccines: What Is Taking So Long?

With the current development of a vaccine for the H5N1 strain of the Bird Flu Virus still 2 to 3 years away. We don t have much of a choice but to really be very cautious that the H5N1 strain does not mutate with a human flu virus. If the outbreak we fear does happen without the vaccines ready yet, all we can possibly do is just quarantine the geographical area where the virus is rampant. Give them the vaccines that have been developed and prevent them from spreading it further. This will only work if the outbreak is limited geographically. When the outbreak does happen to 10,000 places, we re in Big S T. The development of a vaccine is so slow because we still use methods dating back 50 years ago. Ironically this is because they still use chicken eggs to develop the vaccines. New methods are on the horizon, instead of using chicken eggs, they may be able to use mammal cells. Scientist would be storing the mammal cells in large numbers. So...

We just assume they simply have an overactive and limitless supply of energy which we are just not capable of having ourselves. We may ask ourselves, why is it that when I exercise I seem to run out of gas and get tired after thirty minutes but that guy over there seems to be able to keep at it for well over an hour without tiring out. Is he just a more energetic person than me. Why can t I have that kind of energy when I exercise. What is his secret. Well, suppose I said, He has no secret and you too can get more energy and without any magic potion or secret tricks known only to a select few people. Simply having a basic understanding of how your body works and what it needs to make it work at its best will help you to see what may be the key to obtaining better energy levels that will have people asking you what your secret is. In order to...
