Growing on steep northerly slopes in the Schoemanspoort north of Oudtshoorn. The plants usually have a smooth leaf surface although some slightly tubercled forms are also found. Around the Raubenheimer Dam area, there are plants that are in between scabra and starkiana in appearance. The habitat picture (0011101) has a plant just visible around the middle of the pic.
