00795 Calitzdorp South of Kruisrivier

Found in mountainous area between Calitzdorp and Kruisrivier. This appears to be a natural hybrid between H blackburniae and H mucronata.Both species mentioned are found growing in close proximity to these plants and both flower at about the same time. The plants resemble H angustifolia superficially, and this could very well be the 'lost' H angustifolia from this area that Von Poellnitz has referred to. A somewhat similar but smaller HaworthiaHaworthia asemais "found about 10 km south of this locality. The real H angustifolia is found approximately some 500 km to the east.
