00035 Dysselsdorp North west of town

Also referred to as Haworthia blackburniae v derustensis (Bayer), the plants from this locality have thinner leaves then H blackburniae, but thicker leaves then plants from the type locality of H graminifolia near the Cango Caves. The habitat is unique and consists of an oddly shaped solidified conglomerate of sandstone and other material. The plants grow together, and entangled with an Euphorbia sp (often referred to as E enopla), Crassula rupestris, grasses and other shrub and are difficult to find. Their flowering time is late August and September. Pic 0003508a shows a general view of the area.
