n.n. This species has been in cultivation for a number of years. I think it was regarded as some form of H turgida. I rediscovered a habitat a few years ago. While H turgida, prefers the northern aspect of very steep slopes, this new species grows on the cooler, southern slope of a mountain. This is the only locality of H elizeae known to me. Although clump forming, and seemingly plentiful, their habitat only covered an area of roughly 10m x 10m.
