ACT I

Scene 1 - The witches plan to meet after the battle, which we find is a rebellion in Scotland.
Scene 2 - The king and his thanes are at a camp and hear word of the battle from the bleeding sergeant that Macbeth killed the slave Macdonwald, and defeated Rebel Thane of Cawdor.
Scene 3 - The witches hail Macbeth as Thane of Glamis, his current title, as well as Cawdor, and King. The witches make predictions to Banquo. They say his children will become Kings.
Scene 4 - Duncan declares his son Malcolm his successor, making Malcolm a problem in Macbeth's getting the throne.
Scene 4 - Duncan decides to go to Macbeth's castle, and Macbeth talks of how he is having dark thoughts about trying to become king.
Scene 5 - Lady Macbeth decides to help Macbeth gain the crown. Lady Macbeth decides that Duncan will be killed while staying at the mansion.
Scene 7 - Macbeth contemplates whether or not to commit the crime, Lady Macbeth persuades Macbeth to do it by mocking his bravery and courage.
