Dr Lilith Sternin is Frasier's ex-wife. She was his second wife (his first being Nanette) and they were married for six years before getting divorced after she had an affair. Lilith left Frasier and Frederick in 1992 for Dr Louis Pascal. They lived together in an eco-pod for 6 months before Lilith escaped. Pascal was insane and when she refused to go back with him, he kept everyone in the Cheers bar hostage!!! Nevertheless Frasier and Lilith had another go at their marriage but in the end things didn't work out.

Lilith is also a psychiatrist. She often has a cold attitude, not seeming to care about things at times. She also likes things to be correct - her first talk with Frasier since he left her and returned to Seattle was when she corrected a piece of advice he'd given out. She can also say things that hurt the feelings of the other characters.

Niles is not happy with Lilith because she sniggered at Maris' wedding vows (which Maris herself wrote) during their wedding. Niles finally forgives her after all those years but still does not like her that much. Martin describes her as "weird". And Eddie runs away from her every time she speaks to him. Oh, and Daphne seems to get a "physic headache" every time Lilith is in Seattle.

She does have a rarely seen softer side though, as in where she confesses to Frasier that she's scared about raising a child on her own. Frasier and Lilith may no longer be in love but both of them still care for the other.

Lilith is Jewish (and so, therefore, is Frederick, although Frasier is not). Later on she remarries, to Dr Brian Patchett, a seismologist, although that marriage also fails when Brian leaves her for someone more feminine - a contractor named Stan.
