For a great many years now I have been an ardent fan of variety theatre and in particular the Glasgow Empire. This site is
dedicated to the Glasgow Empire and all the wonderful artistes that appeared there over the years. Sadly the Glasgow Empire
was demolished in 1963 but hopefully I can in some small way keep the memories alive

IF YOU HAVE ANY INFORMATION ON THE GLASGOW EMPIRE OR ANY OF THE MANY GREAT ARTISTES WHO PLAYED THIS THEATRE PLEASE CONTACT
BOB BAIN

I seem to remember seeing a show called Startime in the 1960s starring The Seekers. Three Monarchs and Norman Vaughan. That must have been very near to closure - can anyone confirm?

Please Help.
Did Buddy Holly and the Crickets play the Glasgow Empire in the mid to late '50s. When I was in my high-teens I clearly remember seeing a large billboard poster at the Cambuslang bus terminus advertising the show. I'm sure it was the Empire although I could be wrong. I would be very much obliged if you could you give me any information as to whether there was such a show?
Best regards
Jim Mathie
