Herb pizza dough

Serves : 4 x 8" or 2 x 12" pizzas


Ingredients :

  • 2 tbsp dry active yeast
  • 1½ cups warm water
  • 4 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 tspn salt
  • ½ tspn each of dried basil,thyme, oregano, garlic powder,
    onion powder, chervil and cracked black pepper
  • ¼ cup olive oil

Preparation and Cooking Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, dissolve the yeast in the warm water. Rest 10 minutes or until foamy.
  2. Stir in 2 cups of flour along with the salt and seasonings. Stir to a smooth batter. Stir in the oil. Add 1 cup of flour, stirring into a ball. Add enough flour to form a smooth dough. The dough should not be sticky.
  3. Knead the dough for 5 minutes, and allow to rise for 15 minutes. Divide in half. Roll out into 11" circles. Let rise an additional 15 minutes. Place dough on top 12" lightly oiled pizza pans. With you finger tips, press dough from the center to the edges until the pan is completely covered by dough. Add sauce and toppings as per your desired recipe.
