Latest news for December 1999 / January 2000

New vehicles

12 Volvo B10B / Alexander ALX300 buses are to be delivered
in January 2000. Eight will be allocated to Wigston Depot
and the remaining four will be allocated to Coalville.
Fleet numbers are 2601-12 V601-12DBC.

10 Mercedes 810D Varios are to be transfered from ARRIVA
Yorkshire to Fox County in January 2000. They will be 
R-DUB registered. Numbers to follow soon. 

Renumbering of fleet. The fleets of Fox County and Derby
are to be renumbered in the new year. Not all vehicles will
be affected. A full fleetlist will be posted here over 
Christmas / New Year (if I get the time!)


Latest news for December 1999

2151 (831) EON831V the last bus delivered to Midland Red
before the 1981 split has been saved for preservation.
The vehicle had been in Coalville depot for a few weeks 
following engine failure and had started to be destroyed
for spares. Fortunatly the company had a kind heart 
and allowed it to be saved before the Barnsley salvage
dealer arrived! This leaves just 2152 MSU433 (STW18W)
as the last remaining National MkII in service on light
duties at Southgates depot. Although these vehicles are 
an Engineers nightmare they sound lovely and the throb 
of the 680 engine roaring away at the back will be 
missed by many Coalville drivers, who named 
831 "The Groaner"! 831 began it's life at Southgates 
depot in Leicester back in 1980. 101 the first Midland Red
Leyland National also started of its life at Southgates 
way back in 1973. 

Northumbria Bova Futuras 131/2 have been aquired 
by Foxhound for coaching duties.

F407DUG Volvo B10M Paramount 3500 has been withdrawn
following accident damage. F406DUG has been refurbished
and repainted in ARRIVA corporate colours.

12 Mercedes Varios ex ARRIVA Yorkshire are due to arrive
at Fox County in December / January. These will replace 
older Mercedes 608/9 and early 709's in due course. More
details as they arrive.

32 new vehicles are due to be delivered to Fox County 
in 2000. More details as they emerge.

D307 is on loan to Southgates following the return of 
D112/9 to Derby.

December 1999 sees the twenty year anniversary of 
the withdrawal of D9's in Leicester. The owner of
5415 EHA415D is planning a visit to Leicester on 3rd 
January 2000 to recreate the last journey operated.

Latest news for November 1999

4150 is E107JYV Scania K92, East Lancs DD ex ARRIVA 
London North East 107. This vehicle is one of only
four double deckers built on K92 chassis and was new
to Grey Green as a DD coach for London commuter work.

News for July 1999

New DAF / Van Hool coach T119 AUA has arrived
in National Express livery and numbered 210, 
a sister vehicle is due for delivery in the
next few days.

Mercedes Vario / Plaxton Beaver II, R765 DUB has 
transferred from ARRIVA Yorkshire and has been 
numbered M171. It is belived to be garaged at 
Southgates depot.

Leyland National II, 2513, BVP 813V has been 
withdrawn from service, and has been replaced 
with a Greenway from ARRIVA North East.

The last four Iveco minibuses based at Thurmaston 
depot have been withdrawn and replaced with four 
Mercedes 709 / Alexander from ARRIVA 
North West.
