Tipsters Tipsters are an invaluable resource. A lot of people's careers are simply making selections on football - they are there for people to refer to, so we might as well make use of them. However, it is all too easy for one tipster to get it wrong; therefore I like to compare predictions across several tipsters, and look at the consistent predictions. To do it is easy. Take a fixed odds coupon - you will use the boxes by each match to represent a different tipster’s prediction. On Tuesday, when the pools coupons come out, buy a selection of papers - this is when they give their predictions for the pools results (not The Telegraph). As it is for pools, some games are excluded, but there is still a good number to choose from. In the first column on your fixed odds coupon write down the predictions by, for example, The Sun. In the second, maybe you will use The Racing Post. Continue until you have used all the papers that you bought. Browse the Internet. There are a good number of sites that give good predictions. Just search for “fixed odds”, and “predictions”. Have a look on my links page for sites that give out free predictions. Teletext and Ceefax also have pools prediction pages. Try Teletext 417, or Ceefax ??????? When you have amassed all the predictions that you can, then it is time to move onto the next phase. |
