Feline Slattered at The Limelight

Feline's 2nd ever gig—where everything got completely slattered! :-)

• Feline's 2nd ever gig!
• Despite the popularity of their debut performance, it took a further 8 months of hassle before anyone would grant them a follow-up show.
• The breakthrough came when Feline interrupted a meeting between Van Morrison and legendary Belfarce promoter Dave Sinton with a series of bizarre cat-like mewlings down the telephone.
• The result: a 'New Band Showcase Night' in cult Belfarce venue The Limelight… however a combination of circumstances (it was the University summer holidays, so no students were in town, and the WOMAD festival was being held in Derry that week... plus of course, the fact the Feline were completely unknown!...) led to a turnout of less than 20 people (half of whom were the band's invited guests anyway!)
• Feline enlisted their friend Daniel Slattery to help mix their live sound. In Olde Englishe, a 'slattery' was a someone who ran around perpetrating crazed murders, using 'slatts' of wood.
• The set featured the werld premiere of 6 songs, some of which were taken from Feline's newly released 4-track cassette. We brought along a big bag of these tapes to sell at the gig...but managed in the stress of it all to leave them behind when we went home! By the time we realised, they'd disappeared without trace. Who knows what happened to this batch of the rarest of all Feline Dream releases…?
• David made his first public appearance playing a tambourhine (in the obligatory cover version of Genesis' electro-punk blaster, Back in NYC).
• AUDIO ARCHIVE: This was the first time we ever played the clawsicks Lull and People Without Pets...hear for ewerself the mayhem of the latter's very first ever CS01 solo in glorious Real Audio.
• Feline were the only act on the bill that night—before we came on, we supplied a wee DJ set, which went something like this:
