Welcome to the Evil Ink website. Evil Ink is the brand-new anthology series from Dragnet Press, the guys who brought you the Sci-fi neo-noir mini-series Dark Ascension. Here you'll be able to find information on the various suspect characters who inhabit the pages of Evil Ink, as well as the even more suspect characters who create them.
The sinister origins of Evil Ink began in late 2000 when Jimmy 'The Neck' Devlin and his frequent partner in crime, 'Big' Will Marshall chewed over the merits of gathering together some like-minded local hoodlums to form an underground comics syndicate. Needing a legitimate front for the operation, they set up the Dragnet Comics Workshop, a place where they could plan their next move without having to worry about being busted by the fuzz. In a move typical of them, they set up shop right across the street from the local precinct house. The coppers never suspected what was going on right under their very noses! What a nerve!!
The first meeting was a success, luring well known lowlifes like Harry H Healy (affectionately known as 'Harry Knuckles'), Curt Sibling (affectionately known as 'The Butcher'), Campbell 'Fingers' Fleming, Jaeson Finn, Adam Smith, Mark 'The Mick' Murphy, Alistair X, and an out-of-towner called Stripe. They even attracted the attentions of the city's comics Godfather John 'The Don' McShane. The boys knew it was crucial to get his approval for any comics-related jobs. Nothing happens in this city without his say-so! But get The Don's approval they did. He even offered to supply them with some hardware.
The cast was assembled. The players were in place. Now all they needed was a vehicle for their nefarious plans.
Over several meetings the foundations of a masterplan were hammered out. Ideas came and went, but all along, in their hearts of hearts, each member of the Syndicate knew what would happen in the end. When this many hardened comic creators are put in the same room the results are almost always the same. It was logical. It was inevitable. It was an Anthology!
The Syndicate selected a hardcore team of five of the meanest sons-of-bitches who ever put pen to paper. They would form the core crew for phase 1. The operation was dubbed 'Evil Ink'.
Let the mayhem begin.
