St. Hilda's Church is situated
in Sneaton village which partially lies on the B1416, the road
between Ruswarp and what is known as the Whitby/Scarborough road,
the A171.
The following photographs were taken at Christmastime 1999 and
are in temporary positions. They will be more logically placed
within more explanatory text when time permits. The first was
taken from the approach path on the South side of the church and
the second was taken from the North side. The pen and ink drawing
is from the front page of a booklet (which is available within
the Church) which describes the history and background of
Churches built at Sneaton from around 1100. This sketch is of the
Church as it existed prior to 1826 when the present Church was
built.
