Cottage got its name from the Little Egypt area of Newcastle where
it was built in the 18th Century. The pub, being close to the Quayside,
was a renowned watering hole for the many sailors plying up and
down the Tyne.
Cottage's uniqueness has continued to the present day and you may
recognise the Pub as the venue for the cult music programme The
Tube. If you are looking for a traditional warm welcoming place
on the Quayside that is genuine, honest and a little different,
then walk along the Quayside to the coolest pub in Newcastle.
Cottage is situated on the Quayside next to the Tyne Tees Television
Studios, City Road, opposite Bannatyne's Health Club, and has plenty
of parking nearby.
