Monday, 14th July

guess what i spent doing on sunday? cleaning mickey's house up!! before this, 5 guys have been living there, and so 5 guys + 1 house = dirty house. not all guys are that bad, as the fenham (the neighbourhood where welson, dedy, and alvin live in) guys have argued. but i woke up at 9am on sunday morning, and i just could not bear the sight of the brown stains on the sink and kitchen walls anymore! it took me two and a half hours just to get that area decent and cleaning up the fridge as well.

i'm not the neatest person in the world, as my mom can testify to. but when it comes to the kitchen, where food that goes into the body is stored, it should be free from germs!!! heheh... tricia, stephanie, cynthia and i spent a long time shuddering at the thought of the toilets as well.

then in the afternoon, welson, dedy and leo came to visit us and they sure regretted it after that, becoz they ended up helping us in our kitchen cleaning frenzy!! of coz, a BIG thank you goes to welson and leo becoz both of them ended up cleaning the toilet!!! kekeke... their innocent adventure out of fenham to west jesmond ended up quite the opposite to what they had intended to do.

Thursday, 10 July

i wanted to keep this as a surprise, but i'm lousy at keeping things, about myself anyway! i'll be going back to malaysia soon, but not going to tell when yet, ;). will just pop up of no where and surprise the folks back in malaysia. except for my parents of coz, i do need someone to pick me up from the airport. and nobody say anything about taking the public transportation.

but yeah, the reason why i'm telling this, is becoz i'm going thru a massive newcastle-sickness. meaning, i'm getting just a wee bit depressed about leaving. i'm going to hate to leave the friends i've made!! i don't want to say goodbye!!

been too lazy to scan the pictures i took in my time here, but i managed to steal some pictures off globe cafe's website, of the people who i've really come to be so fond of in the past few months. at least i'm not the only one. robi (that's robi, if you can't read that font) from germany, who went back a few weeks back mailed me about him missing newcastle too. he's a nut, he's a german, going to america to work, but thinks china is one great place to be, but aspires to go to malaysia next year. talk about being international.

and yesterday stephanie, cynthia, tricia and i spent a few hours moving our stuff to mickey's place in west jesmond. we originally thought it would only take us about an hour, but it took us 3 hours! by the time mickey (otherwise known as chin peng kit, for those who know him in malaysia, from jic) finally dropped me back, being the last one, it was already close to 11pm. you don't want to cross mickey when he has hayfever... he gets very very irritable... but he was really nice about helping all four of us move our stuff from each of our separate locations.

Wednesday, 9 July

hmm... been a while since i last updated this site. been a bit lazy to come in to uni and to spend time on the computer. for the first time since i got here, i've actually felt lazy to check my mails and reply them! hehe... but i guess some might be glad that i've stopped bombarding their mailboxes, the usual victims, ee von, gurjeet, sharm and andy. seriously considering stopping with this website thingy due to my inherent laziness. but it was born from a very practical reason, that's to keep friends updated with what's been going on in my life and mind. so i might just hang on to it for just a short little while before deciding to scrap off this site.

and the latest thing to occupy my time... strawberry picking!! for employment, not just for fun. it's a tiring labour job, since the strawberry plants are very low and the strawberries found on the ground. not a job for the weak, mind you. many has tried and many has failed to return the second time! just ask welson and leo!! but definitely one for the simple-minded like me.

why i enjoy it is becoz to me, this was God's original intention for man, to tend to the land He has made. and i take pleasure in the simplicity of the job, just to pick, arrange and that's really it. it gives me the time to allow my mind to reflect on things. i noticed that when i get worried about the money, becoz they pay by the trays you fill, i get very tired out and increasingly ill-tempered. but when i stop thinking about the money and focus on the work that i am doing, it gets very enjoyable. the most important thing is that i am working, instead of hanging around, playing with the computer and stuff. you'd think doing nothing is much more enjoyable, but the thing is that i find work even more enjoyable.

after the first day at work, my foot, thighs, butt and back ached like nobodies business. could hardly walk properly. and ivan was teasing me last friday, and i tried to kick him, but found it hard to even raise my leg. but after a while, the muscles gets used to the stretching on the field, so it's fine now. but what i hate about the job is the idiotic plants that poke and scratch and make your hands hurt for a day. it is so irritating! now everytime i see the plants on the field i make it a point to trample on them, deep is my hatred for those thorns and stinging nettles that has abused my hands.

wong ming hui, where's the pictures you're supposed to send to me?!
