DYNAMOS BATTLE FOR A POINT
Dynamos were largely out-played
away to Spinnaker but fought
hard for a superb 1-1 draw.

Spinnaker FC 1
Fareham Dynamos 1
Wells
It was 2nd against 3rd in the league and Dynamos players battled all over the park to bring back a deserved point, their first away points since their opening away game at Titchfield. Dynamos scored towards the end
of the first half with a superb solo goal from Wells. Spinnaker pretty much dominated the 2nd half but only got their equaliser 15 minutes from the end when poor marking allowed the striker to beat the impressive Everitt. Hale picked up Dynamos 2nd caution of the season.

man-of-the-match:
Martyn Everitt

Much like the last meeting between these 2 teams, most of the play was in the Dynamos half. Straight from the off Spinnaker attacked the Dynamos goal and stand-in keeper Everitt made 3 great early blocks. Wells had Dynamos first chance of the game with a cracking drive from distance which just missed the upright. Dynamos were utilising the long ball and again Wells came close when he was put through but shot wide. It was mostly Spinnaker but Everitt was quickly off his line every time to thwart any attacks. On 32 minutes though, Dynamos took the lead against the run of play. Hale picked out Wells with a long ball and his pace saw him beat 3 men on the left wing cut inside and fire hard inside the near post, the keeper unable to keep the ball out. Just before half-time a perfect last ditch sliding tackle from Whatley prevented the Spinnaker striker being through 1 on 1. Half time was 0-1 to Dynamos.

Spinnaker came flying out again and launched wave after wave of attack but the Dynamos back 4 was clearing everything and when they were beaten Everitt was out again to collect. Dynamos were still relying on the long ball and Wells was released by Tudge but a great tackle denied him as he shot. Spinnaker came close on 65 minutes but a curling effort just cleared the cross-bar. On 70 minutes Dan Hale was cautioned for the first time in his Dynamos career for a late tackle. Spinnaker forced a corner from the free kick and from that corner the winger sneaked in and planted a down- wards header past Everitt's despairing dive for 1-1. Wells broke straight away but his shot was well saved. Dynamos wasted a few free kicks in good positions but also continued to defend very well, frustrating Spinnaker on every attack.

Final Score was a 1-1 draw.
