PRAIRIE SUN when I was a child I

| dancing, twirling on the hill one with the dust, the wind the big blue sky windmill slowly churning overhead the happy sounds of gentle voices I grew there, thrived there loved there, belonged there and when I had to leave again I lay in beds of clover so deep so tall I hid there from hurting voices pain and loneliness longing to hear the gentle voices |

from smiling faces all I could see was the sky stretched so wide above me and dreamed of being there back underneath the big sky.. safe, secure, and happy and dreamed of going back to smiling faces gentle voices underneath the big sky my heart lifts inside of me a song I'm going home ..... |
