FORCED ASPHYXIA Biography Formed in March 2003 originally as a 5-piece, FORCED ASPHYXIA got together with the interest of making heavy music that is unique, whilst maintaining a passionate and personal feel. In the summer of 2003, the band saw the opportunity to record a track for a local compilation album being put together by PLEB RECORDS. Through the success of this project, a healthy relationship grew with PLEB & FORCED ASPHYXIA and a further recording session led to the recent mini-album release "Darkest Spiral" (PLE003). With a successful run of gigs behind them with shows at some of Glasgow ’s finest venues including The Cathouse, Strawberry Fields, Fury Murry’s; the band have been hailed as an exciting prospect and a great live experience. Their aggressive and energetic live sound can also be witnessed through their live album "Distorted Apocalypse". FORCED ASPHYXIA are treading new territory and breaking down barriers with new material, showing the true dynamism of the band through powerful riffs, mellow interludes and soaring melodies; giving their sound more maturity and attracting a new breed of fans whilst still holding onto their unique brutal sound.
