21st January 2005:

British Airways reduced frequency on their Isle of Man to Luton service to 4 times per week until 21st March 2005, with services not operating on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

 

20th January 2005:

Estonian Air announced a new service from Manchester to Tallinn on a 2 weekly basis, with a possibility of a 3rd weekly service being added.

British Airways revealed that they are to stop operating services from Manchester to Amsterdam (after 52 years of operation) and Bologna (this service had been suspended for winter)

 

18th January 2005:

Monarch Airlines announced a further new service from Manchester: daily flights to Naples.

 

17th January 2005:

airBaltic operated their last Manchester-Riga service for the winter timetable due to a shortage of aircraft; services on SAS flights to Copenhagen are to be codeshared but they will recommence services in the summer.

 

9th January 2005:

Virgin Atlantic commenced cruise charters to and from San Juan operating from Manchester and these are expected to last until April 2005, operating on a fortnightly basis.  However, it is a mix of outbound services to San Juan on some occasions (Sundays), inbound services on some occasions (on Mondays) with both inbound and outbound services the rest of the time.  Flight numbers: VS9931 outbound and VS9932 inbound.

 

5th January 2005:

British Airways dropped their services to Copenhagen from Manchester.

 

3rd January 2005:

CSA Czech Airlines is set to increase frequency on their Manchester to Prague service with an additional 4 flights per week. 

 

30th December 2004:

GB Airways announced a revised schedule to their Manchester operations.

 

15th December 2004:

Monarch Airlines announced they are expanding their Manchester services; they are to commence the following new services:  Almeria 4 times a week and Madrid on a daily basis.  They are to also increase frequency to Malaga by introducing a 3rd daily service. 

 

13th December 2004:

SkyEurope announced they are to begin three new services to Manchester:  3 times a week to Krakow and Warsaw and 4 times a week to Bratislava.

 

8th December 2004:

Jet2 announced up to 3 times daily Manchester-Edinburgh services.

 

7th December 2004:

Wizzair commenced 3 weekly services from Liverpool to Budapest, Katowice and Warsaw; flights operate Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

 

6th December 2004:

Air Wales commenced 2 daily services from Liverpool to Aberdeen and Cardiff

 

2nd December 2004:

Jet2 began operating a 4 times weekly service to Murcia from Manchester and announced Manchester-Amsterdam services.

Bmibaby released their summer programme from Manchester with the following destinations to be served: Alicante, Belfast, Bordeaux, Cork, Jersey, Knock, Malaga, Murcia, Palma and Prague.

 

1st December 2004:

Jet2 began operating a daily service to Budapest from Manchester.

 

30th November 2004:

Flybe announced new services from Liverpool to Exeter and Southampton.

 

22nd November 2004:

Ryanair officially announce Liverpool as their latest base after revealing this intention on 31st December 2002, with 4 aircraft to be based.  Destinations to be added to the existing and planned services are:  Reus, Cork, Granada, Limoges, Murcia, Nimes, Treviso, Shannon and Venice. They are to also begin services from Blackpool to Girona.

 

2nd November 2004:

BWIA announced a revision to their Port of Spain to Manchester (via Barbados) services from 16th January 2005.  Services will be now operate via Prestwick on Saturdays and via Belfast on Sundays.

 

1st November 2004:

Flybe commenced up to 3 times daily services from Manchester to Southampton.

 

31st October 2004:

Swiss commenced a 3rd daily service between Manchester and Zurich.

 

11th October 2004:

Flybe announced that they are to establish a base at Liverpool with initial destinations Belfast City, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Jersey.

 

1st October 2004:

Zoom Airlines announced new services from Manchester to Canada. Flights are to Toronto on Mondays and Fridays and Vancouver on Thursdays and Saturdays (the Thursday service operates via Calgary)

 

30th September 2004:

GB Airways announced they are to start operations out of Manchester from May 2005, with 1 A320 based, rising to 3 A320s from 2006.

It was revealed that Iberia was to cease operating Manchester-Barcelona services on 28th October 2004.

It was revealed that bmibaby was to cease operating Manchester-Barcelona and Manchester-Paris services on 27th October 2004.

 

29th September 2004:

Ryanair announced another new Liverpool service: daily to Bergamo Rome service, starting 25th February 2005.

Jet2 announced Manchester as their new base, with 6 737s to be based with operations starting in December 2004.  Destinations are: Budapest, Faro, Geneva, Malaga, Murcia, Nice, Pisa, Valencia and Venice

 

24th September 2004:

Wideroe announced they are to cease operating on the Manchester-Bergen service on 23rd October 2004, with a reduction in flights from mid-October.

 

15th September 2004:

Wizzair announced they are to start services from Liverpool to Budapest, Katowice and Warsaw, starting 6th December 2005, with the flights operating on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

 

8th September 2004:

Ryanair announced a new Liverpool to Rome daily service, starting 28th January 2005.
