27th March 2005:

GB Airways revised timings on their Manchester to Malaga service.

GT6829 arr 1320 GT6828 dept 1515 daily

Jet2 began daily service to Alicante from Manchester

CSA Czech Airlines increased frequency on their Manchester to Prague service with an additional 4 flights per week.  The timings for the new services are as follows:

OK642 arr 1125 OK643 dept 1225 Mon, Thurs, Fri and Sun

Flybe commenced daily services from Liverpool to Edinburgh and Glasgow.

LOT Polish Airlines increased capacity on their Manchester-Warsaw services by introducing EMB170s.

Wizzair revised their Liverpool to Katowice services:

W6105 arr 1815 W6106 dept 1905 Mon, Wed, Fri and Sun

easyJet revised their Liverpool to Berlin services, with the service to be operated by A319s:

U24557 arr 1525 U24558 dept 1550 daily

Monarch restarted their Manchester to Palma service.

Belavia is expected to operate a weekly Manchester to Minsk service from 6th June to 29th August using 737s.

 

26th March 2005:

Wizzair ceased their Liverpool to Budapest service.

 

23rd March 2005:

Euromanx began operating on the Isle of Man to Southampton sector: 2 flights per day Monday to Friday, daily on Saturday and Sunday.

GB Airways announced that they are to drop winter services to Las Palmas and Arrecife from Manchester.  The tentative timetable for the winter is as follows:

21st March 2005:

airBaltic recommenced their services from Manchester to Riga.  The timetable is as follows:

BT671 arr 1300 BT672 dept 1350 Mon, Weds and Fri

 

19th March 2005:

Jet2 began operating daily services to Nice, Valencia and Venice from Manchester.

 

18th March 2005:

GB Airways commenced operations to Malaga from Manchester:

GT6829 arr 1415, GT6828 dept 1515 daily except Weds and Thurs.

 

17th March 2005:

Astraeus is to commence a weekly scheduled service from Manchester to Sharm El Sheikh from April 2005.

 

15th March 2005:

Indian Airlines has applied to fly to Manchester on a three weekly basis from December 2005.  The city to which they intend to serve is not known but will probably be Mumbai.

 

14th March 2005:

Hellas Jet announce an increase in frequency in the Manchester to Athens service with an extra weekly flight and alter the timings to the morning.

 

13th March 2005:

easyJet services from Liverpool to Berlin and Geneva are to be operated by A319s during the summer.

Air Berlin is to reduce frequency on the Manchester to Berlin route from late April 2005.

American Airlines will reintroduce their Manchester to Miami service from November 2005.

 

11th March 2005:

Air Sahara  is rumoured to be beginning flights from Mumbai to Manchester from November using 767s.

 

10th March 2005:

bmi is expected to change aircraft type on their Manchester to Washington service from mid-May, with the introduction of Icelandair 757s (subject to approval).  An A330 will be based at Heathrow operating to Riyadh and Mumbai.

Jet2 has brought forward and revised it’s planned reduction of services on the Manchester to Budapest service.  The flights will now operate from Thursday to Sunday from May 1st.

 

8th March 2005:

SriLankan Airlines may start to consider services from Colombo to Manchester after they revealed that they are to service Heathrow twice daily from this summer: they had previously stated that this was one of their pre-requisites before considering Manchester services.

 

7th March 2005:

Continental Airlines confirm a 2nd Manchester-New York (Newark) service starting 10th June with this service operating all year.

British Airways is to reduce frequency on services from Manchester to Dusseldorf, Southampton and Stuttgart.

Air France is to change aircraft type on one of their Manchester-Paris services with the introduction of ERJ145s replacing 737s from April 1st.

GB Airways is to introduce 2 services per week between Manchester and Funchal from November.

 

5th March 2005:

Virgin Atlantic is to operate additional services from Manchester to Orlando in November 2005.

 

4th March 2005:

USAirways is to change aircraft type on their daily services between Manchester and Philadelphia from A330s to 767s until 19th March due to damaging an A330 during the previous week.

Continental Airlines is rumoured to be adding a 2nd Manchester-New York (Newark) service starting 10th June, for approximately 3 months. Both this and the existing service are expected to be using 757s fitted with winglets. The new service timings are:

25th February 2005:

Ryanair began daily services from Liverpool to Bergamo.

SkyEurope is to suspend the introduction of Manchester to Warsaw services due to a dispute with Warsaw Airport

 

21st February 2005:

Estonian Air have confirmed that they will operate an additional weekly service to Tallinn from Manchester during the summer.

Virgin Atlantic is rumoured to be starting a weekly Manchester-Barbados service from November 2005.

 

14th February 2005:

Jet2 began operating a three times daily service to Edinburgh from Manchester.

 

10th February 2005:

Flybe commenced an up to 3 times daily Liverpool to Belfast City service.

Jet2 began operating a three times daily service to Amsterdam from Manchester.

 

2nd November 2004:

BWIA revise their planned changes to their Port of Spain to Manchester (via Barbados) services; services are to be altered from 20th March.

 

5th February 2005:

Air Jamaica withdrew their services to Kingston and Montego Bay from Manchester.

 

4th February 2005:

Jet2 began operating a daily service to Malaga from Manchester.

 

31st January 2005:

Euromanx is reported to be introducing services to Manchester and Bristol from the Isle of Man according to newspaper reports in the Isle of Man.

Lufthansa is expected to increase capacity from on their Manchester to Frankfurt service by introducing A321s on two of their daily services whilst their are also expected to change type on their Manchester to Munich services to RJ85s.

Alitalia is expected to use MD82s on the Manchester-Milan sector.

British Airways is to reduce frequency on the Manchester to Oslo service to daily but are to use RJ100s 6 times per week, Manchester-Milan services will see a reduction in capacity with ERJ145s expected to operate the morning service, and similarly services to Vienna from Manchester will revert to ERJ145s whilst they are going to maintain a daily service from Manchester to Rome instead of operating 12 times per week for the summer as in the previous two years.  All these changes are expected from 28th March 2005.

 

30th January 2005:

Syrianair is thought to be increasing frequency on their Manchester-Damascus service to 4 times per week.

 

28th January 2005:

Ryanair began daily services from Liverpool to Rome.
