SAD NEWSUnfortunately, Mr William Chipton has died. Assistant Secretary of Friends of the Caves of Crowborough (FotCoC), he campaigned for many years for the re-opening of the Caves of Crowborough and was instrumental in raising awareness and organising local fund raising activities (eg, Annual Crowborough Caves Calendar). We at the FotCoC will be continuing with Bill's efforts to make the Caves safe enough for the public and will be holding a small memorial service on the 15th March at 7pm outside the eastern entrance. Anyone in the area would be more than welcome to join us but please remember to bring sandwiches and wine. VACANCY: Due to bereavement, we are looking for an experienced voluntary assistant secretary to support the Friends. This is a varied and demanding post of around 5 hours per week. Successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, fast accurate audio typing skills, a good understanding of Microsoft Office products and sound knowledge of the voluntary 'scene'. Interest in caves/Crowborough not essential. For an informal discussion please E-mail Howie Thompson (use the link on left). Closing date 24th April. Please download our Campaign Poster and put it up in your front window, car, workplace, local post office/newsagent/village hall/telegraph post to highlight the plight of the Caves. Thank you.
