I have been instructing extremely successfully via my driving school for over 20 years in the Driffield, East Yorkshire area.
My success is due mainly to hard work and a gregarious personality. I'm well respected by the local examiners! I don't go in for gimmicks etc: ....just genuine no nonsense, truthful instruction and on the spot problem solving! I have an excellent first time pass rate and I'm very good with nervous or mature students! Ask any of my former students....I don't go in for flattery or time wasting and you'll not find anyone who is more friendly than I! However, I don't let students off with faults! They keep at them until they are solved!
Let's face it!....driving lessons aren't cheap, therefore, my motto is...'Why take ten hours to learn it when you can do it in five'! If you're going to do something....do it right!
So, if you're looking for an instructor who is lazy and boring, who will flatter you and not push and encourage you to achieve to the limit of your ability then I don't think I'm the instructor for you!

Services.

I offer, Intensive or Regular driving lessons and Refresher courses, Pass Plus and Motorway tuition all at competitive prices!!! I cover many villages around Driffield and Bridlington so it is worthwhile phoning or emailing to see if I cover your area! There is no extra charge for pickup!

I now provide computer training for the Theory and Hazard Perception Test. Facilities include those for with reading difficulties!

Aims

My aim is to teach the student to drive proficiently as quickly as is practicable and not just to pass a test! I refrain from allowing students to take driving tests when they are clearly not ready...it just wastes time and lots of money! I'm quite proud of my former students, many of whom have gone on to become professional drivers themselves! Driving is for life and not just for a 45 minute test! I always give 100% so, I expect the same from the student! Remember, if there are omissions in your tuition, you will have a greater chance of a serious accident later...so work hard and reap the rewards!

Teaching Methods.

My preferred method of teaching is to get one job/problem sorted at a time instead of flitting from one thing to another!! If the student is experiencing problems with for instance, gears on approach to junctions, it's absolutely pointless skipping over the problem and going onto reversing or hill starts!!! By iliminating one major problem at a time, the student will immediately see the improvement(s) in their driving skills for themselves, which in turn, gives the student greater confidence and reduces wasted learning time!
With a little patience, metered coercion and a clear understanding of what is required to correct the problem(s), the student will soon respond and will save many hours of frustration for both the instructor and student!
Most continued/protracted problems encountered by a student are invariably due to a lack of understanding!
