City-Wood Tarot: a local underworld tarot deck for the Great North Wood
Underworld tarot
The tarot emerged from
close magical working with earth energies in my local area combined with
underworld tarot work using R J Stewart's Dreampower
tarot, which has strongly influenced the deck. I wanted to create a tarot
which related to a specific local area, with roots in universal earth energies
and many of its images relating to local forms.
As an underworld
tarot, it uses an inverted tree of life for its structure and aims to provide
means of access to and communication with the sources which underpin surface
reality, sometimes described as ancestors or earth energies. It does not
require or propose any particular religious view, and use of this, as of
any tarot, is essentially your own responsibility.
