Dissertation

My masters thesis is "Designing Online Courses" and covers issues relating to E-learning such as design, interaction, audience, course accreditation, learning styles and copyright. This thesis will be finished by the end of May 2002 and will be available by request. To better understand the issues concerning E-learning I have also enrolled into a graphic arts online course based in New York called Sessions.edu.

Previous Multimedia Work

Since I began studying multimedia 1998 I have created several CD-ROMs on various topics.
1. The first CD-ROM was on the tall ship "Cutty Sark" about her creation, who owned her, her history, achievements and her end.
2. The second one was on cigars. The CD covered several aspects of cigars such as how to smoke them, how they are made, the different sizes and kinds, storage and how to really enjoy a good cigar.
3. The third CD is about the basics of camera handling and basic photography. It covers topics like aperture, focus, zoom, film and exposure. The CD teaches these topics using interaction and simulations rather than just text, which is better than just reading a book about it.

I have tested this CD on a few people and I have had great responses from them concerning usability and information. They have actually learned something about cameras from this CD.

I am currently in the process of selling two of my interactive CD-ROM prototypes. One of them to a photography school in New York and the other to the Cutty Sark Foundation charity foundation in London.

During my studies I have been involved in several different types of work and I have also studied several topics concerning these areas, such as:
· Human computer Interaction
· Web Design & Website Development
· E-learning
· E-commerce
· Multimedia Project Management
· Video / Sound / Image Acquisition & Manipulation
· Interactivity

My focus is now on creating and designing online courses that will teach through the use of simulations and advanced intereactivity. During my research for my thesis I have come to understand much of the issues concerning E-learning and I feel this is the future of education.

I am also in the process of designing a prototype online course teaching basic photography and camera handling using the same techniques used in my previous CD-ROM on the same topic.
