This page is under construction right now, but if you check back later, all will be done. I hope...But for now, I have spent glorious hours of giving birth to Chao and evolving them...Then they die. Sooo...what did I get out of it? The complete list of Chao formulas!
All discovered by ME. So, read on...
...And enjoy Chao world!

NOTE: This only covers evolution for the Chao in Sonic Adventure. NOT Sonic Adventure 2...I'm still working on that...grr...
too much Chao on the brain!! ^_^;;

When you destroy an enemy in the Action Stages, an animal pops out of them. If you collect the animal, it will appear on a small bar in the bottom, right-hand corner of the screen. You can hold up to 10 animals at a time. If you look at the background of the various animals, you will see they are coloured. There are 5 coloured sections: Green, Yellow, Red, Purple, and Blue.

Use this table below to identify these animals, and what colour group they are from:

           Section:                    Animals:

                                                   Deer
            Green:                        Kangaroo
                                                 Rabbit
                                                Sparrow
            Purple:                        Peacock
                                                  Parrot

                                                 Gorilla
          Red:                              Lion
                                                   Elephant

                                                  Seal
        Yellow:                            Otter
                                                  Penguin

                                                  Koala
             Blue:                            Skunk
                                                   Mole

Part 1: Evolution

By giving a Chao 20 or more animals, it's features start to change. A cocoon will form around the Chao when it is ready to become an adult. This cocoon will start off transparent, then gets whiter, until your Chao is hidden. Wait a few seconds, and the cocoon will start fading away. When your Chao pops out, he'll be an adult! This is called evolution. There are 4 possible types of evolution:

1. Speed Chao Evolution: Give your Chao at least  20 animals from the Green Section until it evolves. It should be green with 3 spikes hanging from it's head.

2. Flying Chao Evolution: Give your Chao at least 20 animals from the Purple Section until it evolves. It should be purple with 2 spikes sticking out of it's head.

3. Swimming Chao Evolution: Give your Chao at least 20 animals from the Yellow Section until it evolves. It should be yellow and green two-toned, with a large spike hanging and dropping downwards from it's head.

4. Strength Chao Evolution: Give your Chao at least 20 animals from the Red Section until it evolves. It should be red and orange, with one big spike pointing downwards from it's head, and one pointing upwards.

Part 2: Chao Formulas

Once you have evolved your Chao once, you'd want to do it again! That is why this section comes in handy! Follow these easy steps to creating your perfect Chao:

Instructions:

1. Take the evolved Chao written at the start of the formula. (Green = Speed Chao. Purple = Flying Chao. Red = Strength Chao. Yellow = Swimming Chao.) ,
2. Give it at least 50 - 100 animals from the other coloured section written, to create the Chao at the end of the formula,
3. But remember, getting 50 - 100 animals takes a lot of time and patience, but it's worth it in the end!

NOTE: These are NOT all the Chao formulas created so far. There are still many more to find!

Speed Chao Formulas:

1. Green + Green animals = Sonic Chao
2. Green + Purple animals = Elf Chao
3. Green + Red animals = Nova Chao
4. Green + Yellow animals = Perfect Chaos Chao

Flying Chao Formulas:

1. Purple + Purple animals = NiGHTS Chao
2. Purple + Green animals = Ram Chao
3. Purple + Yellow animals = Egg Carrier Chao
4. Purple + Red animals = Scorpion Chao

Swimming Chao Formulas:

1. Yellow + Yellow animals = Fish Chao
2. Yellow + Purple animals = Monster Chao
3. Yellow + Green animals = Squid Chao
4. Yellow + Red animals = Eggman Chao

Strength Chao Formulas:

1. Red + Red animals = Dragon Chao
2. Red + Purple animals = Devil Chao
3. Red + Green animals = Unknown Chao!
4. Red + Yellow animals = Shark Chao

The 'Chaos' Chao Formula:

If you treat a Chao well, it won't die.
No. instead, it reincarnates. This means,
when it looks like it's dying, it'll form back
into the egg it hatched from. Every time a
Chao does this, it passes through a generation.
You need a Chao that has been reincarnated
3 times to do this formula properly:

Give your Chao one of every animal, of every Colour Group. Including the Blue Section Colour Group.
Put it in the VMU, and win a Chaonut in the matching    game.
Feed it to him in the Chao garden. (Don't give him anything else to eat!)
Now wait. If done properly, you should get a Chao that looks just like `Chaos 0', and instead of a ball on his head, he will have a shining light.

Part 3: Animal Parts Cancelled!

You'll probably notice when you give your Chao a small animal, it starts to take on some of the animals features! If you want your Chao to be totally converted to the Chao at the end of your formula, follow these easy steps:

Instructions:

1. Look up the name of the Chao written,
2. Find the animals written by looking up their colour section and finding them.
But remember, you might have to give it 2 or 3 types of animals to get rid of their features. Good luck!

Speed Chao Cancellations:

Sonic Chao = Give a Mole, a Parrot, and a Seal.
Elf Chao = Give a Koala, a Parrot, and a Seal.
Nova Chao = Give a Gorilla, some Purple Section Animals, and a Seal.
Perfect Chaos Chao = Give a Sparrow, and a Seal.

Flying Chao Cancellations:

NiGHTS Chao = Give a Lion, and a Gorilla.
Ram Chao = Give a Gorilla.
Egg Carrier Chao = Give an Elephant, some Yellow Section Animals for a small head, and some Green Section Animals for a big head.
Scorpion Chao = Give a Seal.

Swimming Chao Cancellations:

Fish Chao = Give a Gorilla, and a Penguin.
Monster Chao = Give a Lion OR a Koala, a Gorilla, and some Purple Section Animals.
Squid Chao = Give a Gorilla, some Purple OR some Yellow Section animals.
Eggman Chao = Give a Parrot.

Strength Chao Cancellations:

Dragon Chao = Give a Seal.
Devil Chao = Give a Seal OR a Penguin and a Parrot.
Unknown Chao = Give a Parrot.
Shark Chao = Give a Gorilla, and a Penguin.

Part 4: Secret Chao

You'd probably want to try out these little beauties out! Here is a list of secret Chao that have been recently discovered. They are normal Chao formulas, but they have been tested on different colours of Chao! Follow the steps below to find all 3 rare coloured Chao:

Instructions:

1. Golden Chao: Go to the first place where you fought `Chaos 0' as Sonic. Hunt around a bit, and you'll find an egg-shaped stone. Take it to the antiques store (across from the Burger Shop) and place it down beside the platform that the golden egg is on. Take the golden egg off, and put it down. Now, put the stone back on the platform where you got the golden egg from. Pick up the golden egg and leave, heading for the Station Sq. Chao garden, the lift on the left in the hotel by the beach. Easy-peasy, right?

2. Silver Chao: Go to the big waterfall beside the entrance to Windy Valley in the Mystic Ruins. You'll see a silver-metallic egg high up on a perch, behind the waterfall. Look around for a big stone wall, and push it. If done correctly, the egg should catapult out of the waterfall, into the pool of water. Wait until it is on land, then you can pick it up. Now jump in the mine cart in the big cave behind Tail's workshop, where you'll be taken to the Mystic Ruins Chao Garden

3. Brown (Evil) Chao: Go to the Egg Carrier. Get inside the cell   room where E-102y was holding Amy captive, and look around. You'll see the black and red egg in the second cell. Pick it up, and go out into the main room of the Egg Carrier. Behind the Platform where Robotnik stands (the big yellow one with flashing green light around it). You'll see a pattern of letters. Jump on the letters in order to spell out: E-G-G-M-A-N. The door will open. Take your egg to the teleporter, where you'll be teleported to the Egg Carrier Chao Garden.

4. Metallic-Black Chao: You must have 2 VMUs to do this! Put a Brown (Evil) Chao into one VMU, and Silver Chao into the other VMU. Get them to mate, and if you're lucky, you can end up with a Metallic-Black Chao! But that is is you're VERY lucky...Or you'll just get...gahhh! Ordinary Chao x.x,, Oh well, the cuter the better, right? ^_^;;; Ok, I'll shut up then...

5. Now for the fun bit. Once you have all 3 secret Chao, use them in the formulas below to create the Chao at the end of the formula:

Golden Chao:

Green + Green animals = Super Sonic Chao!
Red + Purple animals = Angelfish Chao!

Silver Chao:

3rd Generation Chao + All animals = `Chaos 0' Chao look-alike!
Green + Yellow animals = Perfect Chaos Chao look-alike!
Purple + Purple animals = Motorbike Chao!
Purple + Purple animals = Snowman Chao!

Black-Metallic Chao:

3rd Generation Chao + All animals = Darth Vader Chao!
Yellow + Yellow animals = Grim Reaper Chao! (I think...)

NOTE: You can also find out new Chao by mixing their colours and features. The best way is to mate different colours of Chao, with different features. Who knows, you could create a new breed of chao! Try it out!

Hope you enjoyed this page on of how to easily create and breed new Chao. So, what are you waiting for? Stop reading and start breeding…NOW!
