Alice Amelia Noad was born 22 February 1859 at 26 James Street, Mile End.  She married James Thomas on 17 April 1881 at the District Church of St Pauls, Bow Common and they had 4 children.  Alice's parents were Robert William Noad and Ann Storr and they lived in Mile End Old Town.

Alice Amelia Thomas was the third child of James Thomas and Alice Amelia Noad and was born on 10 May 1860 at 14 Edward Street, Limehouse.  Alice married Francis Henry House in 1906 and they had 13 children although only 6 survived to adulthood.

The third generation Alice Amelia Thomas was my mum and she was born in 1911, the 4th child of William George Thomas and Annie Shaw.  For most of her life she was known by the name of Lal or Lallie.  She married John James Dorée in 1934 and they had 4 children.  In 1977 Alice and John moved to Street, Somerset, to be close to their children, and lived there happily for the rest of their lives.  Alice died in 1994 and is still missed every day by her family.
