Plain Mosaic Blur Fun Signature Tag

 

For this tutorial - you will need the following:

Paint Shop Pro 7 or demo which you can download here.

Toadies filters that you can download here.  For this tutorial, we will be using the Plain Mosaic Blur Filter.

The Cortney psp file that you can download here.

Blade Pro or Super Blade Pro (optional)

 

Step 1

Open up a new transparent image 400 width by 400 height.

Step 2

Choose two solid colors from your graphic for the foreground and background colors (first and second color boxes at the Styles Palette).

Step 3

Left Click the Preset Shapes tool and left click your Toggle Tools Option Tool.  Locate the flower 7 shape and use these settings:

Holding down your left mouse button, going from left to right and down, draw a very large flower on your transparent image. Your image will now look like this:

 

Step 4

Go to Effects/Plug-in Filters/Toadies/Plain Mosaic Blur and apply the default settings. 

Step 5

Go to Effects/Edge/Enhance and your image will now look like this:

Step 6

Left click your magic wand and left click it on one of the lines in your graphic (not inside the line in the color square but directly on the line to select it).  You will see ants moving on that line. 

Step 7

Go to Selections/Modify/Select Similar and you will see all the lines have ants on it.  Keep those ants moving.

Step 8

Go to Selections/Modify/Expand and put in the number 1.  Your image will now look like this:

Step 9

If you have Blade Pro or Super Blade Pro, go to Effects/ Plug-in Filters/Flaming Pear/BladePro or Super BladePro and select a gold BladePro preset and apply it to the image but do not deselect - leave those ants moving.

If you do not have Blade Pro - at your Styles Palette, choose the D Gold Fold Texture and flood fill every line with that texture but do not deselect - leave those ants moving.

Step 10

Go to Effects/3D Effects/Drop Shadow and apply these settings:

Step 11

Left click the magic wand and right click the magic wand on your image to deselect it.  The ants will have stopped moving.  Your signature tag should now look like this:

Step 13

Open up the Cortney psp file and go to Edit/Copy and then go to your tag graphic and go to Edit/Paste as New Layer.

Step 14

Go to Effects/3D Effects/Drop Shadow and use the same settings as you did before.

Step 16

Go to Layers/New Raster Layer. Be sure you are on the new layer which should be Layer 3. You can tell which layer you are on because it is highlighted in dark blue.    Layer 1 is the layer with the design.  Layer 2 is the Layer with the tube.  Be sure you are on Layer 3 and flood fill Layer 3 with white. 

Step 17

Go to Layers/Arrange/Send to Bottom and your white layer will now be the bottom layer.

Step 18

Go to Layers/Merge/Merge Visible.

Step 19

Left click your crop tool, and draw a rectangle around the blank areas of your graphic that you will not need.  Then go to Image/Crop to Selection and your graphic should now look like this:

Step 20

At your Style palette, have your background color (second color box) set to solid and select white. Go to Image/Add Borders.  Make sure symmetric is not checked.   For the top, left and right border, set it to 0 and for the bottom border, set it to 50.  Here is what your tag will look like now:

You can save this tag as a psp file or if you want to add your name or text to the tag, do the following steps:

Step 1

At your Style Palette, in your second color box, make it white.  In the top color box, make it null.

Step 2

Left click your text tool and when your text entry screen opens, be sure you have floating checked and apply your text.  Flood fill your text with the gold fill you used before or if you applied a Blade Pro preset instead, use that same preset and apply it to the text.  Leave those ants moving and go to Effects/3D Effects/Drop Shadow and apply the same settings as you did before.

Step 3

Left click your magic wand and right click it on your text to deselect it. Save as either a jpg or gif.
