Kenneth Charles Williams was born on 22nd February 1926 in a flat down Caledonian Road directly north of King's Cross Station.
He wasn't very academically talented and soon realised that his only way to earn a living was to go into show business.

Another radio success was Round The Horne which brought famous characters of Williams such as Rambling Syd Rumpo and Julian
and Sandy to the public.

Although he may not have liked it, Kenneth will mostly be remembered for his appearance in the Carry On films. Often being
stereotypeed as a snooty nostril flaring man- in- a- mid- life- crisis, he starred in 26 out of 31; the member who starred
in the most.

Kenneth often disregarded the Carry Ons but came back for three reasons:
1. He was guaranteed two wage packets eevery year
2. He helped producer Peter Rogers
3. His closest friends were there with him (particularly Hattie Jacques, Joan Sims, Kenneth Connor, Peter Butterworth and
Barbara Windsor)

The Death Of A Comic Genius

When Carry On ended, Kenneth became an author and a regular face on chat- shows. On 15th April 1988, he committed suicide
from an overdose. He was 62.

Kenneth Williams' first official performance was on the stage in a play called St. Joan. However, his career into fame only
really begun when he became a regular voice on radio beginning with Hancock's Half Hour.

Kenneth loved visiting theatres and art museums. He loved literature of all kinds and music, particularly classical.

Kenneth owned one of the greatest skills of all- being able to make people laugh immediately. He was a great comic as well
as a great actor and was also a true friend.
