| Midland Railway | Norton Branch | Mineral Railways |
| The Norton branch of the South Staffordshire railway was built in 1858, and in the process flattened much of the early mine workings and houses of Brownhills. It would join the South Staffs at Ryders Hayes junction in Pelsall, and connect the main line to the East Cannock junction, and thereby the coalfields. The line is now a nature trail starting at the A5 bridge to the Wyrley and Essington canal at the Sough in Pelsall, and part of the Beacon way. It is worth a look as a lot of Brownhills early history was in this area, and some remains can still be seen. |
