RAS means Remote Acess Service. You need it if you're going to connect to a dialup Internet Service Provider. Ras Scheduler can automate the dialling and hanging up operations, and launch a web site and/or a program if it dialed successfully. Why would you want to do that ? I use it to record radio shows from the Internet. RasScheduler is integrated with Internet Radio Tuner, to make it easy to create scheduler entries.

Because it uses the system scheduler, Ras Scheduler works even if your PC is in sleep mode. It will restore the power and dial automatically (No magic there : it uses the Windows task scheduler to do that !)

NB : you need to activate the Windows Scheduler first. It is located in the control panel, under Scheduled Tasks. You can start it using the Advanced menu, if it is not already started.

NB :
Text expansion macros :
%L : expands to the length of the call in minutes
%D : expands to the description.

eg : SoundCapture /length %L c:\capture.mp3. It will replace %L with the length of the call before launching the program.
