Slave Ports
There were 3 main cities which were used as slave ports, these were Bristol, Liverpool and London. There was lot of Africans about around this time due to the new cargo of slave trade, which was start by John Hawkins, the father of the English Slave Trade. There were Africans brought from Africa to England, not as slaves but as middle men for the Europeans to do their trading in Africa. Even today if you go to Liverpool you have a very high mixed race population dating well back in history. Albert Dock in Liverpool has a slave museum, which also tells the story of the slave trade, and the Africans who came as freemen and as slaves there. Many logbooks were kept of the slaves going in & out of the auction houses, and the price paid for them. But their names have been changed due to being slaves or being baptized.
