from a room

echoes
from a room
of silence

laughter
from a room
of pain

cheering
from a room
of grieving

hurting
from a room
of love

confused
by a room
of mazes

dead
from a room
of you.

breathing

breathing
i whisper
your name

sleeping
i close
my eyes

dying
i touch
your face.

Loaned Love

Surrounded by love
yet so
alone.

The Re-Birth Remembered

The forgotten birth after me,
a pair
was my twin
Ignored; they stared at me
but not him
Wail and distress
I moved with
the splashed white.

But he never
My fingers twitched
He was still
I was bathed
but he was shut away
In the morgue
Blue.

Remember me, my brother too,
a pair
Like the midwife did
when she smiled.
But he never smiled
He never did.

I was wrapped in the
white shawl
He was wrapped in the
white coffin and sunk
While I rose.

Remember us.

A Year On The Railway

The snow has melted
The sun awakes
Light creeps in from the rafters
and illuminates the air

The delicate mist
of morning freshness
and dew fixed lightly on
The steam-pulled bulks
of ancient nostalgia
Not yet forgotten

(Brushed of all dust,
looking like new)

Soon they arrive in droves
Their cameras flash
Tapes whirr
Children scream and
the trains steam along the
rusty track

When the season's ended
darkness falls
Birds serenade goodbyes
Dark tones replace the bright
And it is all too lonely
on the long marsh road.
