When Lois can't seem to find a good excuse to get herself out of jury duty, she is assigned a case and is sworn to secrecy regarding details of the case. Hal begins to obsess over the contents of the case and decides it must be a murder trial. Hal and Abe go to great lengths to find out everything they can about the facts surrounding the case. Of course, the real case is a much simpler issue of petty theft. Meanwhile Malcolm, Reese, Dewey and Stevie get lost in a storm drain underneath the town.
