Fish are aquatic vertebrates characterised by gills, fins, scales and really stupid-looking faces. Look at them! Look at those fishy faces!

A number of fish species (the most well-known being the electric eel) are able to produce electric charges. The electric fish is modelled on the piranha, rather than any real electric fish, although it resembles a southern stargazer.
There is a type of loach called a thunderfish, but it cannot generate electricity and looks nothing like FF4's thunder fish.

Again, I am unable to identify the species of these two generically-named monsters.
Piranhas (including the red piranha, so called because of its red belly) are carnivorous fish that attack in shoals that are able to strip a capybara, the world's largest rodent, to the bone in minutes. Piranhas are native to South America, although some piranhas, which were kept as pets and found to be unsuitable, have been dumped into various lakes in North America. In many cases the fish were unable to live, but in the south of Texas, California and Folrida the conditions can sustain them. This could cause problems for the fish already inhabiting the water, as well as the local fishermen.

No, I didn't put this entry on the wrong page, seahorses are indeed fish, just really weird looking ones, notable for their prehensile tails. Seahorses live near the coasts of Africa, Europe, North America and Indo-Australia. Average size depends on species, and so is anywhere from one to fourteen inches. There is no such species as the "king seahorse".

Fish that average one to three feet in length and are able to attatch themselves to larger marine animals using their dorsal fins, which resemble suckers. They feed on scraps of food dropped by their hosts.
FF3's remora is actually modelled around coral, and looks nothing like its real-life counterpart.

Rays are a type of fish, notable for their flattened bodies and large, wing-like fins. The manta ray (also known as a sea devil, although it looks nothing like FF3's sea devil) is a particularly large variety; the width of a manta sometimes reaches 22 feet.

Several fictional variations on the ray. Fireflies are beetles that can produce light from their abdomens; FF3's fire flies may or may not be named after them (besides the name, there is no similarity)

Sharks are carnivorous fish, recognisable by their streamlined bodies, sharp, pointed scales and skeletons made of cartilage. The most well-known species of of shark is the white shark or great white shark. The white shark can grow up to 23 feet in length (although it's not the largest species of shark, that title goes to the whale shark, which can reach 40 feet). The diet of a white shark includes marine mammals, turtles and large fish. They are also known to attack humans.
