When copying
MP3's to an Audio CD (sometimes called .CDA), or when converting an Audio CD
track to an MP3, there is always a middle step where the file is converted to
.WAV format.
If required, this middle step can be automated and essentially made invisible to
you. Depending on the software you decide to use, you can very easily click on
an MP3 file on your hard disk and drag and drop it on to your CD Writer. The
transient 'work' files would be deleted by the software.
It's can be as
simple as that. Of course if you wish to somehow manipulate the track before you
burn it to your CD, the .WAV file is an important step in the file conversion.
It is the .WAV that you would manipulate. You could for example shorten the
track using a WAVE Editor package.
Confused? Don't
be!
I have prepared a list of the common terms and jargon used when discussing
MP3's.
View it now.
Now that you
are familiar with the language, the rest of this site will concentrate on
providing you with links with descriptions of the most popular MP3 related
software on the World Wide Web.
