Myst Hints and Walkthroughs

The aim of this section is to give hints of play to the different ages of Myst, whilst also providing a walkthrough to the puzzles (without giving away the actual answers) as well. General hints of play for Myst can be given as to look carefully in each scene for any buttons, switches, levers, doors - secret passages and rooms also play a major part in Myst and should be looked out for. Record any information at all - symbols, notes, pictures, numbers, and even sounds. Read all the books - or at least glance at any pictures or diagrams as they may prove useful later on. Any machines or devices you come across should be played with until you get bored. Any buttons and levers should be pressed - though if nothing appears to happen then make sure you leave it in the "on" position, or as though you only pressed it once. There are no irreversible devices in Myst, so don't be afraid to try anything. The ages differ in difficulty - The Stoneship Age (boat) I feel is the easiest, followed by the Mechanical Age (Gears), the Channelwood Age (Tree) and the hardest of all, the Selenitic Age (Spaceship) which requires information from a different age to complete it - or great mapping abilities! Each Age's section is divided into Two pages - the first gives hints, whilst the second gives the walkthrough. Good Luck!
