  • Passed with 1st class classification.
  • Modules include CAD for the Theatre; Lighting Design: Painting with Light; Costume Design: Theory and Practice; Scenic Design: Theory and Practice.
  • Final year modules include lighting design for three public productions:
  1. Community touring: 'Radio Days' a piece of reminiscence theatre set during World War II. Venues included Residential Care Homes and Primary Schools. Pass mark 68%
  2. Site specific: 'The City in the Sea' a promenade production telling a selection of stories by Edgar Allan Poe. The show took place in the disused non-denominational chapel on the grounds of a former Mental Hospital. Pass Mark 71%
  3. Main-house: 'The Women of Troy' Currently in production. This show will have an updated setting of a prisoner holding camp on a beach somewhere in the Balkans or Eastern Europe.

Sales Assistant
August 2005 Queens Theatre, Hornchurch
Technician: de-rigging, equipment maintenance and PAT testing during the theatre's annual shutdown period.
Term Time 2003 - Present Halliwell Theatre, Trinity College Carmarthen
Student Technician at 300-seat campus theatre. Responsibilities included rigging, get-ins and strikes for incoming companies, equipment maintenance, and design, programming and rigging for Theatre Studies students' performances.
3rd April - 12th May 2006 Royal Shakespeare Company,
Stratford-Upon-Avon
For the final module of my degree I spent 6 weeks working with the Lighting department at the RSC in Stratford. I worked on fit-ups, focus sessions, technical rehearsals and on practical wiring and equipment maintenance in the Swan Theatre and the RST. I also worked as follow spot operator for the tech rehearsals and initial 2 week run of Antony and Cleopatra in The Swan.
27th June - 29th June 2006 Dyfed Powys Probation Area Interventions Conference, Halliwell Theatre Carmarthen
Venue Technician: For this conference I was responsible for the rigging of lighting and sound equipment in advance of the conference and lighting operation during the event.

Interests

  • Student member of the Association of Lighting Designers. In May 2005 I applied for and was selected for a student sponsorship scheme to attend the Showlight 2005 lighting design conference in Munich.
  • Sailing. RYA level 1, 2 and 3 Sailing Certificates.
  • Established new theatre society within the college Students' Union.
