16th Naphill Fireworks Display
2008

403 years since Guy Fawkes

This year the fireworks display and bonfire will be held on Saturday 1st November 2008. We will be spending even more on the display as we have, for the third year running, received a large donation from the RAF. There will be a few more visitors from the RAF so we welcome them.

Tickets will be available at the gate as usual, but prior to the event are now available at reduced rates from Costcutters Store, Post Office, Chinese Take-away and from the 2 village pubs: the Wheel and the Black Lion. Tickets for RAF personnel are available through the RAF.

Tickets bought prior to the event have been held at last year's prices - excellent value !!!

The Football Club will be running their famous BBQ with hot dogs and hamburgers from 6:00. There will be a pot of chili on the go as well. The Men's Club will be running the bar in front of the sports lounge with real ale, lagers, and wine from 6:00. The fire will be lit at 6:00 this year and the fireworks will start at 7:00. Soup, mulled wine and soft drinks will also be available on the playing field.

If you have any wood for the fire please bring it to the "Crick" early in the morning of 3rd November. It took a lot of effort from volunteers to move the wood left at the edge of the car park last year so please do not leave anything there prior to Saturday without contacting us first.

If we are able to borrow a large trailer, we will, for a donation to Village Hall funds, collect large items by prior arrangement. These are items that are too big for the normal garden bonfire.

Please telephone me, Andrew Wilmot, on 562770 or e-mail
Fireworks@Naphill

Come and enjoy one of the best fireworks displays in the area.

After 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, please do not park in the Village Hall car park as it is the designated route for the fire brigade in the unlikely event that we have to call them. You will be able to park in Main Road, but please do not block the entrance to the Village Hall car park.

Come and enjoy it with your friends and neighbours !

Warning:
Please be aware that the bonfire and the fireworks are dangerous and no responsibility for any damage, injury, or death can be accepted by the Village Hall Council, however caused. All our operatives are trained by our fireworks supplier and we take reasonable precautions for everyone's safety. Please do not bring sparklers to the event as it is against the fire brigade's and our supplier's recommendations, and can be dangerous.
