Saturday Fight Night Episode #15
Civic Hall, Whitehaven, Cumbria
Your commentary team is Chris Freeman and Adam Wheeler.

The announcers kicked off the show by plugging tonight's main event, a steel cage match for the NWA-UK Hammerlock Tag Team Titles pitting champions The New Young Lions against the team they beat for the gold in a ladder match at Back 2 School, La Cosa Nostra. The first match of the show was a TV Title number one contenders match between Jawaid Kaleeq and Hiro Kakuhari. Both men have been on a tremendous run of form in recent weeks and either man would be a formidable challenger for the champion Bryan Campbell. The Blue Chipper will be returning soon from his tour with ZERO1-MAX and will certainly be interested in the outcome of this one.

Match highlights:
Hiro Kakuhari rocked Jawaid Kaleeq early with a thrust kick to the head, but Kaleeq came back with a series of elbowsmashes. Kaleeq wiped Kakuhari out at ringside with an elbow suicida. Kaleeq countered a Frankensteiner with a power bomb and planted Kakuhari with a tiger driver for a near fall. Kakuhari returned fire with his trademark stiff kicks and then dived onto Kaleeq at ringside with an Asai moonsault. Kakuhari executed a swinging DDT and followed up with an inside cradle for two. Kakuhari picked up another two count with the Thunder Wave and then floored Kaleeq with a spinning heel kick. Kaleeq picked up a near fall of his own with a German suplex, but Kakuhari stopped him in his tracks with a snap suplex. Kaleeq fought out of a Fujiwara armbar and executed a frog splash for two. Kaleeq hit a spinning back suplex. Kakuhari almost pinned Kaleeq with a Northern Lights suplex. Kaleeq avoided the mist from Kakuhari and dropped the former Heavyweight Champion with a rolling elbowsmash. Jawaid Kaleeq then rolled up Kakuhari in the Tiger Clutch to claim the number one contendership to the TV Title.

Number-One-Contenders-Match:
Jawaid Kaleeq pinned Hiro Kakuhari with the Tiger Clutch in 0:14:46.
Rating: **** 1/4

Jawaid Kaleeq celebrated his victory with gusto in front of his many fans in attendance. Hiro Kakuhari made a signal to the back and instantly two Japanese men hit the ring and attacked Kaleeq! Kakuhari and his two henchmen triple teamed Kaleeq, stomping him down to the mat. The two men dragged Kaleeq back to his feet and held him up for Kakuhari to brutalise him with a series of stiff kicks to the chest. Kakuhari then floored Kaleeq with a sickening thrust kick to the face. Kakuhari and his henchmen left Kaleeq laying motionless on the canvas, while Chris Freeman and Adam Wheeler speculated over the identity of the two mystery Japanese men.

Jawaid Kaleeq was being treated by the paramedics in the back. He was complaining of sore ribs and was coughing up blood.

Up next, Matt Sizemore takes on Ian Powers. Powers came up a little short last week in a great match with Jawaid Kaleeq, despite the dirty tactics of his manager and girlfriend Leilani. A couple of months ago, Powers was challenging for the Heavyweight Title but his career has come to a standstill recently. He really needs a victory here this evening over Matt Sizemore, who is coming off a hard-fought win last week over Cuthbert D. Fharquar.

Match highlights:
Ian Powers took control of the contest with a flapjack and a spinebuster which earned a two count. Powers picked up a couple more near falls with a legdrop and a powerslam. Powers used a power bomb on Matt Sizemore and put his feet on the ropes for extra leverage, but Sizemore still kicked out. Powers busted open Sizemore with one of those stinging short punches. The Pride of East London used jabs and headbutts to open the wound further. Sizemore used a reverse neckbreaker and as Powers rolled out of the ring to regroup with Leilani, Sizemore dived onto him with a flying cross body press!! Powers dropped Sizemore with a powerslam and a lariat and then applied the Hammer Jammer. Sizemore broke the hold to the delight of the crowd and then Powers missed a kneedrop. Powers succumbed to the Angels Wings and was jack-knifed for a two count. Sizemore executed a Blue Thunder Bomb but then missed an avalanche in the corner. Ian Powers quickly locked on the Hammer Jammer again and Sizemore tapped out.

Ian Powers made Matt Sizemore submit to the Hammer Jammer in 0:13:43.

Asocial, malodorous, pasty-faced monomaniac Will Gates was scheduled up next against Muerte de Antedicho. Computer geek Gates is yet to be defeated in Hammerlock but is facing his greatest challenge to date against the high-flying Spaniard. Antedicho emphatically lost his rivalry with Hiro Kakuhari with a defeat in their Mexican Death Match last week and is eager to put that episode behind him.

Will Gates started off the bout by choking out Muerte de Antedicho. Antedicho missed a springboard dropkick and Gates swept his legs for a near fall. Gates connected with a double underhook suplex and wore Antedicho down with an abdominal stretch. The computer nerd hiptossed Antedicho and grounded the high-flyer with a half Boston. Gates was wrestling very intelligently. Antedicho dropped Gates with a flying spinning leg lariat and used an inverted swinging DDT for a two count. Gates got his knees up to counter a ropeflip moonsault and then executed the Hard Drive Crash. Antedicho would not stay down though and dropkicked Gates in the knee. Antedicho called for the end, but Gates seized possession of his laptop and nailed the Spaniard with it! The referee had no option but to call for the bell.

Muerte de Antedicho defeated Will Gates by disqualification in 0:06:41.
Rating: **

The fans jeered Will Gates out of the building as he stood over the unconscious body of Muerte de Antedicho, cuddling his laptop lovingly. Gates then turned Antedicho over and started undoing his mask! The referee attempted to stop him, but Gates shoved him down to the mat. Gates yanked the mask off Antedicho's head and held it up like a trophy to the disgust of the crowd.

Backstage, Kelly interviewed the New Young Lions. Brandon Alvarez claimed that he and Kyle Coulbourne were still feeling the affects of the ladder match with La Cosa Nostra from two weeks ago but they were ready to face the Italians inside a steel cage tonight. Coulbourne added that the steel cage match is the most brutal match in wrestling today and it will make the ladder match the two teams had seem like a walk in the park. The champions made it clear that they had worked too damn hard to capture the titles to lose them just two weeks later. They warned that they were willing to do ANYTHING to keep the straps, which makes them incredibly dangerous.

During that interview, Muerte de Antedicho had been helped from the ring by two referees. They covered his face with a towel to keep his identity a secret.

Steve Bailey and Lord J. T. Potemkin III were set to clash next. After disposing of Byson at Back 2 School, Steve Bailey put his name back into the title picture with a win over M.J. in a wonderful match last week. Potemkin was victorious himself, scoring a somewhat shock win at the expense of Junior Jones. But who shall get their hand raised this week?

Match highlights:
Steve Bailey floored Lord Potemkin with a spin kick and executed a fisherman suplex for a near fall. Potemkin unloaded with a succession of European uppercuts and connected with a flying lariat. Bailey scored near falls with a flying cross body press and a top-rope Frankensteiner. Potemkin struck with a low blow and went for the Cultural Suplex, but Bailey backdropped his way out of it. Bailey hit a missile dropkick and rocked Potemkin with the Gun Barrel. Potemkin kicked Bailey in the gut and planted him with the Cultural Suplex. Potemkin covered and hooked the tights for good measure, but Bailey still kicked out! Bailey executed the Pistol Whip, but Major James Hewitt diverted the referee's attention away from the ring! Potemkin then went for an armdrag, but Bailey turned it into a backslide for the pinfall out of nowhere!

Steve Bailey pinned Lord J. T. Potemkin III after a backslide in 0:11:20.
Rating: *** 1/4

The show returned from the break with highlights of the outstanding Tag Team Title Ladder Match at Back 2 School, where The New Young Lions dethroned La Cosa Nostra for the straps. The rematch is up next and will be contested inside a fifteen foot high steel cage. Chris Freeman added that the match can only end by pinfall or submission. With four men all in the ring at the same time, the potential for injury is very high - this is an extremely dangerous environment. La Cosa Nostra are desperate to get their titles back, but The New Young Lions have stated that they are willing to do whatever it takes to keep the belts around their waists. Something's gotta give!

Match highlights:
Kyle Coulbourne took Manuel Majoli down with spinning headscissors and then connected with a spinning leg lariat. Coulbourne tried to put Majoli away with the DDT Squared for an extremely quick win, but Matteo Saronni was there for the save. La Cosa Nostra sent Coulbourne crashing into the cage with a double backdrop and Coulbourne almost landed right on his head. Brandon Alvarez nailed Saronni with a flying dropkick and then planted him with a Northern Lights suplex for two. A top-rope Frankensteiner also earned a near fall for Alvarez. Alvarez then flung Saronni head-first into the cage, busting him wide open. Later, Saronni bloodied Alvarez by grinding his face against the cage. Saronni hit Alvarez with a dragon suplex for a near fall and then dropped him with a backdrop driver. The Italians drove Alvarez down to the mat with a double legsweep. The New Young Lions then took control, driving Matteo Saronni into the cage with a double suplex! Saronni came back with a superplex on Coulbourne. However, the New Young Lions retained the gold when Kyle Coulbourne blasted Matteo Saronni into the steel bars with the Suicycle.

Cage Match:
The New Young Lions (Brandon Alvarez and Kyle Coulbourne) defeated
La Cosa Nostra (Manuel Majoli and Matteo Saronni) when K. Coulbourne pinned
Saronni with the Suicycle in 0:07:53.

(The New Young Lions retained the NWA-UK Hammerlock Tag Team Titles.)

The New Young Lions climbed a side of the cage each and held their championship gold aloft to the joy of the Hammerlock crowd. After acknowledging the crowd and thanking them for their support, Brandon Alvarez and Kyle Coulbourne went to leave the cage, when suddenly The Bodysnatchers attacked them out of nowhere! Burke and Blair smashed the cage door into Coulbourne's head, splitting him wide open! The Bodysnatchers beat Alvarez down, then lifted him up and launched him into the cage wall like a dart! Burke and Blair dragged a bodybag into the ring and zipped Alvarez inside it. Burke shut the cage door to prevent any officials or road agents from getting involved, before he and Blair threw Alvarez into the cage! That was such a dangerous move as Alvarez was trapped inside the bodybag and couldn't protect himself. Weakened by the blood loss, Coulbourne desperately tried to fight back. However, The Bodysnatchers took him down and then blasted him with the Burked spike piledriver!! The crowd erupted in a chorus of boos as The Bodysnatchers surveyed the carnage they had left in the ring and smirked to end the show.

Circuit information:
Tonight's show was certainly extremely hectic and chaotic. The Bodysnatchers unprovoked and cowardly attack on Tag Team Champions the New Young Lions was sickening. Both Coulbourne and Alvarez required stitches at the end of the night and Alvarez was left with a slight concussion. Both men are extremely battered and bruised, but are expected to recover soon and are determined to make Burke and Blair pay.

Speaking of shocking and appalling attacks, Will Gates' disgusting beating of Muerte de Antedicho was exactly that. To knock Antedicho out with his laptop is one thing, but to unmask the proud Spaniard is another entirely. The unmasking of a wrestler is a moment of the highest drama; a mythic figure is about to plunge back down to the ranks of the all-too-human. From then on, no matter how threatening and defiant the wrestler is, the audience will always have something on him: his true identity. He is an object of ridicule and almost of pity. Antedicho is all too aware that the loss of the mask is the ultimate defeat, the one a wrestler can never come back from. He has vowed to make Will Gates pay dearly for the embarrassment and humiliation that he has caused him.

Steve Bailey and Ian Powers recorded important wins in the chase for a shot at the TV Title, but it is Jawaid Kaleeq who earned the next opportunity at the gold with his defeat of Hiro Kakuhari here this evening. But what condition will Kaleeq be in after he was pummelled by Hiro Kakuhari and two mystery henchmen? Bryan Campbell returns from Japan next week after a hugely successful tour of Japan.

Linda O'Neil is organising some sort of ceremony for the NWA-UK Hammerlock Heavyweight Champion Jason Prentice next week. Who knows what this could be about?! We'll find out next week, so till then, so long everybody!!
