Hammerlock TV Episode #9
Stour Centre, Ashford, Kent
Your commentary team is Chris Freeman and Adam Wheeler.

Hammerlock TV kicked off this week with the third meeting between champion Bryan Campbell and Scottie Hero over the Television Title. Footage rolled from the previous two meetings which ended all square and it is not unfair to say that on both those occasions, Campbell was lucky to retain the strap. As The Blue Chipper made his extravagant entrance, Kelly interviewed Scottie Hero backstage. Kelly congratulated Scottie Hero on receiving the backing of Hammerlock officials and being entered into the Tag Team World Cup for England. Hero thanked her but added that he still had to find a partner. However, he said that was for another time and now he was concentrating on taking the TV Title from Bryan Campbell. Hero finished by saying that Campbell had already had two strikes and tonight was the third.

Match highlights:
Bryan Campbell and Scottie Hero traded a succession of punches in the centre of the ring to start this contest and the crowd were going wild! Hero hit a tiger driver but barely earned a one count, before scoring with the Last Action Hero. Campbell executed a flying forearm for two. Hero used a clothesline and a monkey flip, but Campbell got another two count with a powerslam. Hero picked up a couple of two counts with an inside cradle and spinning headscissors. The Blue Chipper countered a Frankensteiner attempt with a power bomb and went on the offensive with two elbowsmashes, a lung blower, a dragon sleeper and a nice DDT. Hero went for a swinging DDT, but Campbell threw him off. The champion went to the top rope, but Hero caught him and slammed him to the mat. Campbell executed a full nelson slam, a sleeperhold and hit a superb flying cross body press, but Hero ended up too close to the ropes. Hero then shocked Campbell with a flying rana for the three count! The crowd popped big-time for the fall - could Hero hold on?
Scottie Hero looked to hit a superkick, but Campbell dodged the move and swept Hero's legs out from under him. The Blue Chipper quickly capitalised with a powerslam to even up the match. Hero blocked a DDT and drilled Campbell with a Rock Bottom, before locking on the Koji clutch. After a struggle, Campbell eventually reached the ropes. Campbell kicked Hero in the gut and rocked him with a European uppercut. The TV champ wore Hero down with a rear chinlock, but Hero fought out of it. The two warriors floored each other with a double clothesline as the time limit expired. The fans booed and jeered as Hammerlock TV went to a break.

Footage rolled from during the commercials where referee Mike Warren decided to give the match four more minutes so that a clear winner could be determined. Campbell, who had regained possession of his championship, was irate. He swung for Hero with the belt, but Hero ducked the move and planted Campbell with a double underhook suplex! Hero dropped Campbell with a superkick and executed the Hero Call. To the amazement of everyone, Campbell kicked out! Hero was shocked and the champion took advantage with a back elbow, flooring Hero. The Blue Chipper struck with a kneelift, a hiptoss and then connected with the Chip Off The Old Block for the pinfall. Campbell was 2-1 up with just over a minute remaining. Campbell tried to waste time by repeatedly throwing Hero out of the ring. The champion dropkicked Hero as he made his way back into the squared circle. Campbell tried for a back suplex, but Hero converted it into a bulldog and as he made the cover, the four extra minutes ran out. Bryan Campbell retains the title, decisively this time, in the third epic battle between these two talented athletes.

Bryan Campbell taunted the fans after the contest, claiming that nobody could take the title from him. The fans applauded Hero for his efforts, but Campbell took exception to this and floored Hero with his title belt! Campbell stomped a hole in Hero until Junior Jones hit the ring and unloaded on the champion with right hands! Jones sent Campbell into the ropes, but Campbell hung on and slid out of the ring. The crowd jeered Campbell as he backed off, checking for blood around his mouth. The Blue Chipper said he'd see Jones at GrandSlam and left. The International Bright Young Thing helped Scottie Hero back to his feet to loud applause from the crowd. Hero took the microphone and thanked Junior Jones for his help. He then offered Jones the chance to team with him and represent England in the Tag Team World Cup. Jones accepted, saying that he'd be honoured to and the two men shook hands.

A video promo aired for the Tag Team World Cup, which begins in a week's time.

The strains of Green Day's "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" filled the arena. Chris Freeman and Adam Wheeler didn't recognise the entrance music and pondered what was going on as smoke emerged from the entrance way. Victoria Silvstedt then walked out from the back, fresh off a stint on ITV1's ill-fated Celebrity Wrestling show. She was clad in her Ice Maiden costume from that programme, which earned several cat-calls and wolf-whistles. She motioned to the entrance way and "The Iceman" Ben Winter appeared, sans mask! He had new wrestling tights and some penetrating deep-blue contact lenses. Winter entered the ring and seemed to be extremely focused. Freeman said that although he didn't care much for him, it was good to see Winter back. Wheeler quipped that it is great to see The Iceman return if it means we get to see gorgeous Swedish beauty Victoria Silvstedt every week!

Ben Winter pinned Martyn Sullivan after a Hotshot in 0:03:11.
Rating: * 3/4
[Victoria Silvstedt interfered against Martyn Sullivan.]

Match highlights:
Ben Winter started off with a hard slam and a kneelift, before planting The Air Devil with an inverted DDT. The Iceman was all over Martyn Sullivan, barely even giving him a chance to breathe. He was showing new-found aggression as he mercilessly pounded Sullivan, while Victoria watched on at ringside looking very pleased. Sullivan rallied back with a spinning thrust kick, but as he bounced off the ropes, Victoria tripped him. The fans jeered the former Playmate of the Year. Winter cut Sullivan down with a short clothesline. The finish came when Sullivan went for a flying cross body, but Winter caught him and dropped him throat-first across the top rope for the quick win.

"The Ice Maiden" Victoria Silvstedt joined Winter in the ring after the bell and raised her charge's arm aloft. A very impressive return for The Iceman.

Before the next contest, Chris Freeman announced that a six-man elimination match had been booked for GrandSlam between the Goldie Lookin' Chain trio of Eggsy, Mike Balls and P Xain and The Aristocrats, Cuthbert D. Fharquar, Lord J.T. Potemkin III and their butler Jeeves. Footage rolled from the match between Jeeves and Mike Balls this past week on Saturday Fight Night. Fharquar interfered in that contest, hitting Balls with a chair and costing him the bout. Eggsy will be out for some retribution here against Lord Potemkin.

Lord J. T. Potemkin III defeated Eggsy by countout in 0:08:15.
Rating: * 1/2
[Jeeves interfered against Eggsy.]

Match highlights:
The underrated Eggsy started on the offensive, surprising Potemkin with a gutwrench suplex. He scored a couple of near falls with a flying sunset flip and a flying double foot stomp straight to Potemkin's gut. Potemkin turned things into his favour with a bulldog and a flying lariat. Eggsy hit a nice butterfly suplex, a swinging DDT and then dropped Potemkin with a Northern Lights suplex which earned a two count. Potemkin blocked a German suplex and pulled Eggsy through the ropes. Eggsy hit the floor hard. Potemkin whipped Eggsy into the ring steps and the guard rail. He then drilled Eggsy with the Cultural Suplex at ringside for the count-out victory.

Cuthbert D. Fharquar made his way out after the bell and he joined Potemkin and Jeeves in putting the boots to the defenceless Eggsy, hoping to eliminate him before GrandSlam. The rest of Goldie Lookin' Chain soon arrived on the scene to the delight of the fans in attendance and The Aristocrats promptly retreated through the crowd!

Backstage, Serenity was talking to somebody on her mobile phone. She reassured whoever it was, presumably Anthony DeAngelo, that she could handle things and told them to enjoy their night off. Serenity faces the man she stabbed in the back, Matt Sizemore, later tonight.

Footage played of Steve Bailey's return last week and the announcement that he will face Byson at GrandSlam, provided the two men do not lay a finger on each other till then.

Byson pinned One Step Down with the Bull Rutt in 0:00:53.
Rating: *

Match highlights:
Byson wasn't wasting any time here, attacking One Step Down before the referee had a chance to call for the bell. Byson destroyed The Stepper with a clothesline, hard forearms, a wicked belly-to-belly suplex and then blasted One Step Down with a vicious spear. The bout wasn't even a minute old as Byson spiked The Stepper with the Bull Rutt for the 1-2-3.

Byson wasn't finished yet though and dragged One Step Down back to his feet for another Bull Rutt. Steve Bailey sprinted down to the ring to a nice ovation. He pulled The Stepper back down, preventing Byson from completing the barbaric manoeuvre. Byson and Bailey went face-to-face, talking trash to each other. They can't touch each other, as that would make their bout at GrandSlam null and void. You could cut the intensity with a knife and the fans were loving it!! The two men continued to stare each other down as Hammerlock TV went to commercials.

***Commercial break***

Serenity made her entrance, wearing perhaps the most revealing wrestling attire ever seen. Footage was shown from last week where Serenity challenged Matt Sizemore to a match in order to stop him maiming Anthony DeAngelo. Despite the fact that she was about to wrestle Sizemore, the man who would love nothing more than to tear her apart, Serenity didn't appear worried. She even went as far to call Sizemore out, saying that she didn't have all night. Matt Sizemore appeared at the entrance way to wild cheers from the crowd, but suddenly he was blindsided by Anthony DeAngelo! DeAngelo clotheslined Sizemore with a baseball bat and then kicked him all the way down the ramp! Sizemore tried to fight back, but DeAngelo threw him into the steps and then planted him on the ringside floor with X-Spot! DeAngelo rolled Sizemore into the ring and Serenity yelled at the timekeeper to ring the bell!

Serenity pinned Matt Sizemore in 0:00:03.
Rating: DUD

Match highlights:
This was no match - Serenity simply covered Sizemore, even having the gall to hook the leg, for the three count.

Serenity's evil plan unfolded for all to see - it had been a trap all along. She and DeAngelo then proceeded to swap spit over Sizemore's broken body. Sizemore will have his chance for revenge at GrandSlam.

The finish from La Cosa Nostra's victory over The New Young Lions on Saturday Fight Night to earn a Tag Team Title shot at GrandSlam was shown, as was The Hammersmith Hard Men's attack after the match. Rick Knight challenged one of the Italians to face him in a singles match, so "Maestro" Manuel Majoli steps up to the plate tonight!

Rick Knight pinned Manuel Majoli with the Chelsea Smile in 0:13:54.
Rating: ** 1/4

Match highlights:
Rick Knight overwhelmed Manuel Majoli with a flurry of offence, including a back suplex and a vertical suplex. Knight then repeatedly tried to choke the life out of Majoli. Knight was completely dominant, executing a reverse neckbreaker, a legdrop and a high knee. Majoli turned the tide briefly with a high back-body drop, but his attempted submissions were always thwarted by Knight. Knight raked Majoli's eyes and connected with a vicious headbutt. He again choked out Majoli, before clotheslining him and then finishing him off with the Chelsea Smile.

Knight continued to hammer Majoli with hard rights after the match, but Matteo Saronni pulled his partner out of the ring and to safety. Gaz Phillips joined his tag team partner in the ring and they held their championships aloft to the delight of the crowd. The Hammersmith Hard Men had succeeded in robbing the Italians of their momentum heading into GrandSlam.

Footage played from last week's edition of Hammerlock TV of the non-title match between Jason Prentice and Muerte de Antedicho. Prentice simply walked out of the match, losing deliberately by count-out. Prentice will now defend the title at GrandSlam and the contract signing to make that bout official is coming up next!

***Commercial break***

The contract signing.
The ring was decorated for the contract signing for the NWA-UK Heavyweight Title Match at GrandSlam. The canvas was covered with a red carpet and a table had been set up with two chairs for the participants. The contracts were set out on the table. Hammerlock president Peter Abram was there to watch over proceedings, along with several Hammerlock suits. Muerte de Antedicho made his way down to the ring, dressed in jeans and a t-shirt. Chris Freeman noted that Antedicho will be representing Spain in the Tag Team World Cup and added that he'd love to do it as the Heavyweight Champion. Antedicho slapped hands with the fans as he walked down the aisle and then backflipped off the top turnbuckle into the ring.

The fans' cheers turned into loud boos as Heavyweight Champion Jason Prentice's music hit. Prentice made his way out from the back wearing a dress shirt and smart trousers. Wheeler said that he looked like a champion, while Freeman quipped that he didn't act like one. Linda O'Neil accompanied Prentice as ever and was wearing a stunning black dress. Prentice removed his sunglasses as he walked to the ring and looked extremely unimpressed. Linda opened the ropes for the champion and Prentice held his gold aloft, while the fans responded with a deafening "Prentice sucks!" chant. Peter Abram smiled, while Prentice laid his championship belt on the table and took the microphone. Antedicho sat patiently in his chair.

Prentice asked Abram if he thought this was funny. Prentice said it wasn't funny that he was being forced into matches against his will when not fully fit. He called Muerte de Antedicho completely undeserving of a title shot and accused the Spaniard of trying to end his career. Prentice described the contract signing as a total farce and said that if Abram thought he would sign the contract, then he had another thing coming. Prentice informed Abram that there would be no title match at GrandSlam - in fact, Prentice said he wouldn't be at the show at all! Jason Prentice took his title belt and left the ring with Linda O'Neil as the fans booed him out of the building. Muerte de Antedicho argued with the Hammerlock officials, confused at what was going on. Abram demanded that Prentice return to the ring and sign the contract, claiming he was ruining everything. Prentice put his sunglasses back on and waved goodbye to the president.

Suddenly, "Sad But True" by Metallica hit and the place became unglued! The big bad Punisher emerged from the back and cut Prentice off in the aisle. The champion begged off as The Punisher pointed to the ring and told Prentice to get back there. Prentice was shaking in his Armanis and slowly returned to the squared circle without ever once taking his eyes off The Punisher. Hammerlock's resident enforcer took the microphone and claimed that there was no way in hell that Prentice was going to back out of his title match at GrandSlam. The Punisher said that it made him sick to his stomach that somebody so gutless was the Heavyweight Champion of this company. The Punisher demanded that Prentice sign the contract right now. Trembling, Jason Prentice took the pen from Peter Abram and wrote his signature on the dotted line, to the delight of The Punisher, Abram, Antedicho and all the fans in attendance.

Prentice quickly exited the ring to get away from The Punisher while Antedicho added his name to the contract. Abram took the microphone and told Prentice that he should learn to read the small print. The crowd hushed and Prentice wondered what the president was talking about. Abram revealed that not only had Prentice signed up to defend his championship at GrandSlam, he'd also signed up to defend it...INSIDE A STEEL CAGE!!! The crowd popped, while Prentice looked like he might have a coronary. Abram said that he'd added that stipulation to prevent Linda from getting involved and to stop Prentice from running away!!

The Punisher nodded his head, giving his approval to the decision. Meanwhile, Jason Prentice looked like he was about to cry. Muerte de Antedicho climbed each turnbuckle and signalled that the gold would soon be around his waist. Adam Wheeler called the whole thing a crock. Jason Prentice started to snap and blamed Linda for what had happened. The champion stomped off to the back while Antedicho saluted the fans as the show ended.
